Let’s evaluate Orleans Parish with comparable shithole Shelby County, TN (Memphis) of which I am much more knowledgeable:
Orleans Parish demographics
54% black
32% white
8% Hispanic
15.2% Trump
82.2% Harris
Shelby County demographics
51% black
34% white
8% Hispanic
36.4% Trump
61.8% Harris
So I guess my point is, New Orleans is even worse than you probably assumed. An almost unimaginably deranged hell hole, and stain on the South. And I say that with great sorrow, as it was always my favorite American city.

EBR, Orleans and SJTB weren't a surprise. The large number Dem voting block will also occur in state elections.

St. Helena surprises me. That’s a very rural area.

I think an under the radar issue here in Nola is that we have gotten a lot of blue state refugees in the last 10 years or so. Everyone talks about the migration to Texas and Florida but we get some of it too. And they bring their politics with them.

If you know anything about the 7 Parishes none of them are surprising.

Black people live in rural areas too.

A handful of people I knew in college who were committed liberals, more concerned with nomadic living and music festivals rather than achieving real success, moved to New Orleans even though they weren’t from there originally. So those are the types moving in.

New Orleans almost rivals DC numbers. That city is beyond lost.
Trump gained 1% in Nola.
I had a few friends that voted Jorgensen last election vote Trump this one. Maybe enough of those types moved him up 1%.
Someone else mentioned it, but a lot of people from OOS that move to Nola come from blue places. Some baw from rural texas isnt packing up his life and moving to Nola because he went on a bachelorette trip there once.

Orleans - Harris: 130,578 (82.2%), Trump: 24,089 (15.2%)
I mourn for the place that I was born and grew up in. I had a wonderful childhood there. Running the streets until the street lights came on.
Harris 82% and Tweety as head of city. That explains it all.

Texas and Florida are getting blue state refugees that are typically white collar and live in suburbs. New Orleans gets artistic types that move to the City to bartend and be good targets for robbery in the bywater or marigny.

I live in St. Helena, and that’s closer than I expected as there is an overwhelming democrat presence in the parish.

That's actually a miniscule number of these people. It's mostly all just an odd misguided vanity type deal. Like I said, it's an overall goofy phenomenon really.

Trump carried 242 of 254 countries in the Lone Star State.

Wow, I knew it would go for Harris, but the margin is astounding.
