Your theory is that the Israeli's needed American help to defeat the Arabs, a feet they accomplished on their own in 6 days...... Call me skeptical.
Also, is there proof that this was intentional? Do we have copies or some tapes or something?

Yeah. Like Pat Tillman.
“…once you tell a lie, it’s very hard to say you lied. And I think that the lie is planted, and they’re not going to say otherwise. But I think that Pat’s death was used by the administration, by the military, to deflect….They saw an opportunity to use him.” Mary Tillman, Pat Tillman’s mother.
“Immediately after Pat’s death, our family was told that he was shot in the head by the enemy in a fierce firefight outside a narrow canyon. ‘Always leading from the front, Cpl. Tillman aggressively maneuvered his team against the enemy position on a steep slope. As a result of Cpl. Tillman’s effort and heroic action, the platoon was able to maneuver through the ambush position without suffering a single casualty.’ This story inspired countless Americans, as intended, but there was one small problem with the narrative. It was utter fiction.” Army Ranger Kevin Tillman, Pat Tillman’s bother.

This was not an accident.
Israeli fighters claimed not to have seen the American ensign yet Israeli aircraft had been flying sorties over the Liberty for several days and Israeli torpedo boats had likewise been following in the Liberty’s wake in the days before the attack.
Further, as a reconnaissance ship, the Liberty’s radio/radar conning tower had a very distinct silhouette.
Whatever the reasons behind the attack, there was no possible way this attack was a result of ship misidentification.

You think Israel accidentally attacked this ship?

Yes. They knew what they were doing. They knew the Liberty was in the area, and recon had already ID’d the ship that morning.
The Liberty was flying the American flag in broad daylight.

This documentary has the actual audio tapes and interviews of American sailors on the ship that day.

The US has been infiltrated at the highest levels for a very long time. All made possible by the corrupt and controlled media.

The posters in this thread calling this an accident would likely sacrifice their own children if Israel told them to.

Mossad is evil as hell. Not sure why we keep this country (and Saudi Arabia) as allies.

As a “Christian Nation”, why do we always seem to break our backs for Israel? They’re Jewish, so why do Christians care so much about Israel? Jews wouldn’t support a Christian nation as much as we support Israel.

The modern American Christian is gay for Israel. They want to show Jesus how much they love the Old Testament (?)

In addition to radio intercepts, we have the public testimony of both Israeli pilots and attack craft officers that they positively identified the ship as American. They were ordered to attack anyway.

Been down this road several times. When a country is at war, tell you not to go to a certain place, you confirm you aren’t at that place but you are, shite like this tends to happen.

On the other hand, no Israeli personnel ever provided the type of “testimony” that you describe.
I always wonder why people weaken a good argument by poisoning it with objective falsehoods. To do so weakens your GOOD argument.

This line of thinking would hold water if the Liberty wouldn't have been in international waters, and if Israel hadn't mounted a sustained attack for over an hour--long beyond the time to reasonably discover their "mistake". The American flag and known marking number of the Liberty painted on the side in enormous letters was probably a clue. If the torpedo boats didn't see those things, surely the multiple flights of Mirage's did.

Do you have any sense of shame?

Maybe not. Are you ashamed that the ship wasn't where it was supposed to be? I mean, we told them we wouldn't be there. We told them that we weren't there. I don't know how they are supposed to assume anything other than it is an enemy ship flying a US flag. What am I supposed to be ashamed of, other than the fact that Americans died because we didn't have our shite together?

Much easier to believe that Israel wanted to go to war with the US Navy, right?
