The fact is the most polarized regions are the most diverse. The less diverse areas are less polarized.

This makes sense if the blue mixed with the red and made some areas look purple. There seems to be clear physical boundaries between ideology in these maps

It was that long ago that Ascension Parish was the hotbed of labor union/democratic party activity of south Louisiana. How times have changed.

And now Ascension is arguably one of the best places in the state to live because of the economy and jobs. Need to flip these big cities red to make our state great again just like we have done here in Ascension

Probably never going to happen. In most areas of the US, the cities are blue and the suburbs and rural areas are red.

I don't live there. I'm out in the country about an hour away.

Seems like St. George will pass pretty easily based off that map.

Nothing we didn’t already know.

I'd say that pretty much explains the larger turnout for Obama' inauguration in 2009 compared to Trump's in 2017.

Didn't really have as much to do with popularity as with Obama being the "home team" and Trump the visitor.

My city

Only time I've been to the blue area is to visit commercial things like big box stores or restaurants. I'm about as far south on the red portion that's west of the bay as you can go. Mostly residential but more businesses popping up on this side of town.
