That’s the issue. Cali has high minimum wage. Restaurants hire illegals and pay them cash under the table and below minimum wage. If all the illegals go home and they have to hire at min wage they all shut down. This exposing the hypocrisy if the state.

100% this. Illegals being deported is a problem ONLY for shady and democrat run business. It’s not a country wide epidemic. It will be a Democrat state epidemic because they depend on slace labor to survive. We don’t have that problem down south or other areas of the country.

There isn't a single restaurant in southern California that would survive the removal of illegal immigrants. ICE raided a handful of upscale restaurants last week in San Diego, and they haven't been able to open since.
I've worked in kitchens in southern California, and I'm currently 10 miles north of the border in AZ. Most reputable places do everything they can to verify work status. Are there exceptions? Sure.
Now hole in the wall Mexican and Asian places, taco trucks and the like, I'd assume all bets are off.
