My main question is whether this is what the left wants.
If this crashes the regular banking system, that kind of clears the way for a new government one to show up.
That being said, it is equally likely that it causes banks to be deregulated to where they are no longer required to have most of their money invested and have low cash on hand.
I forget the numbers but cash on hand for a bank is a measly few percent due to lending requirements, which is exactly why bank runs can happen. Lowering the requirements on lent assets to allow for greater reserves would help fix this.

They did that during Katrina.
The Big Banks have bought up the Local small ones. That is very problematic.

Good. If you want to take away a big chunk of Trudeau's power, put a couple of Canadian banks out of business. Start with Toronto-Dominion.
Might even make banks with the bulk of their operations in the US think twice before doing the same once Biden wakes up long enough to realize this is an option.

Then try to transfer your money from a U.S. bank to a crypto exchange like Coinbase or Kucoin. It's a freaking act of congress to get your money from a bank like Capital One to a crypto exchange. However going the other way is really easy.
