i know some of you guys are getting really mad that i keep saying this is happening and you really dont want to believe me, but i promise you that it is, and it is rampant.
You should stop arguing with these people and just show them the proof that you have of rampant fraud. That will shut them up once and for all.

they are in medical and physical therapy every day for so called injuries. there are mutiple 18-22 year olds where i go to physical therapy in there every day for vague back, knee, neck, etc injuries. THAT'S the fraud
That's not fraud. When I was in we called that malingering. They will still need to prove to the VA that their injuries were valid & service connected.

A large government program is being abused by lawyers and other advocates groups who advertise on tv to recruit “clients?” I can’t believe that. The US government is too competent to allow that to happen.

have you read any of my posts? how would you like me to prove to you that all of these late teens and early twenty military members dont really have nebulous back and neck problems? it's stuff that cant be proven or disproven but they start complaning of these issues as soon as they hit the fleet, and go repeatedly to medical complaining of all these ailments over and over for four years, and they know what words to say for the VA to accept it.
it's like voter fraud or welfare fraud or any other kind of fraud. they get away with it by operating within the framework of the system in a way that their claims cant be disproven.
i know of multiple troops that got Purple Hearts because they were in a vehicle that got hit by an IED. they were giving out PHs for TBI at the time, and so guys that were in vehicles that got hit were going back and googling TBI symptoms and then displaying those symptoms. it's the same mindset.
i guess i dont understand why some of you refuse to believe this is happening.

it is absolutely malingering as well. and it's all in preparation for when they EAS and claim all of those injuries. they're smart. they know what they have to do and say in order to be able to "prove" the injuries as valid and service connected in the future. there are physical therapists around military installations who know exactly what they need to write in their reports. it's a whole cottage industry around bases.

You can't. That's my point. It is your opinion that that is what they are doing. You aren't medical personnel and can't diagnose them.
And going on "sick call" for an injury is still not fraud.

ok. i'm sure it's entirely legitimate that such a huge portion of the most healthy demographic in the country magically all break down even in the most non-physical of military jobs and require a lifetime of compensation.

I have tinnitus worse than that. So pay me.

So now you're saying that military medical personnel are putting their careers and reputation on the line to fraud the VA. What's the benefit to the therapists?

yeah the ones who drink all night to then slam a monster and rip a smoke before a run is a “healthy demographic”

I don't know. What is that percentage?

My dad served in Vietnam and the VA has given him fair benefits
For hearing loss due to close proximity grenades
And cancer directly attributed to chemicals they were using in the jungle
But it’s absolutely being abused now, you get lower back problems doing 1,000’s of jobs but if you develop them loading pallets in the military it pays you for life
There needs to be a line between combat- wartime injuries - injuries caused by neglect or abuse
And
Normal wear and tear on the body from normal tasks

it's civilian PTs mostly, and some civilian doctors. the benefit is that they get more business from other troops who hear about which clinics will say the right things in their reports. generally speaking, i've found the actual miltiary medical personnel to be much stricter on things like that. it's civilian docs and therapists. there's no threat to them. the VA isnt goign to send lawyers after random PT clinics because it's all stuff that cant really be proven or disproven like back and neck pain.

i have no idea. a lot. you're honestly arguing like a liberal about the voter and welfare fraud that everyone knows is happening but cant prove.

It wouldn't surprise me at all that military would look out for one another this way. I'm sure they know the system well enough to know what would be difficult to get pinched for and what wouldn't.
My best friend is a Lt. Col. in the US Army. He knows without a doubt of a contract marriage between two enlistees. A legally married couple for the sole purpose of getting spousal privileges from the military namely living off base except they each own their own house and do not live together but each receive their own BAH. It's going on right under their noses and there is zero they can do about it. If they can get away with that, I am not the least surprised military personnel can get away with gaming disability.
there's good and bad actors in everything, and that includes the military. They aren't special in this regard.

Well, without a number, the claims may fall into reasonable numbers. Having been thru the process I know how rigorous the VA was and how thoroughly my medical files were scrutinized. That's why I don't believe the fraud is rampant. Is there some, sure. There are always some who figure out how to cheat the system.

i mean, fair enough.

I don’t blame the veterans going after the benefits. I’m more concerned about the system that is easily abused.
The bar is too low for receiving thousands of dollars a month. Guys that claim tinnitus and ptsd are getting $3500 a month for life.

Most of the fraud is actually being sniffed out, as well as many changes to 38 CFR. A lot of the fraud is in the last few years with AI being used to generate claims. Also sleep apnea and other conditions have been changed and lessened in percentage and verification of those claims. One thing that isn’t mentioned in this thread is that anytime a new claim is made it allows their whole rating to be reviewed and typically people lose more than what they gain.
