The Democrats must have polling numbers that say the President is better off staying in his basement watching Matlock then being overexposed and out front with the media. Trump might need to take note of this.

It is a genuine curiosity. Cases are coming down at a meteoric pace, three vaccines now approved in the US, states have vaccinated in excess of 15% of their populations. With prior exposures we are looking at herd immunity by the end of April. Governors are starting to talk about lifting mask mandates.
Restrictions on businesses are lifting in cities all over the country. Unemployment claims fell sharply.
There's a great deal to be excited about moving forward. You would think he would stand up there and take credit for it all...just like any politician would do.
So why the silence?

They've said they are waiting for the Covid relief bill to get passed before doing the joint session of congress speech. I know many don't believe that, but that's what is being said.

I know he's only not giving one because his brain is mush but I actually like not giving a speech and would love for it to make an ongoing change in tradition. It won't make a difference and as soon as Kamala takes over they will have one but I hate the State of the Union addresses. Go back to the days of the President sending a letter to be read to a joint session of Congress.
