He has no sense of limits on what medicine or science can accomplish, however. And he believes that public health could have solved the issue if given enough power.

Yes, this is one area where he loses me. That and the fact that he seems to think the vaccine is infallible despite the mounting evidence and constantly moving goal post. A smart person would at some point begin to shift their beliefs unless, as you said, they are 100% invested in it.

My cousin, who is a Dr, is part of a group that owns labs across LA, TX, and MS. He has made a killing the past few years. They started the labs years ago but have expanded under the pandemic. Knowing what it has done for him financially, I can only imagine that a lot of people in similar positions probably hate to see Omicron finally kill off the fear.

My good friend took a high level position at Lourdes in Lafayette. According to him, they are printing money right now. I assume it is the same for all the general medical field.

My wife and I both had covid earlier this month. Our kids got mild fevers for like 2 days, and some congestion. I can't say 100% for sure they had covid because we didn't test them,but they were in close proximity to both of us when were contagious and both got mildly sick, so I'm 99.9% sure they both had it.
This is what people are killing their children with heart attacks to avoid, maybe the mildest sniffles my kids have ever had. There is statically 0 risk to children from covid
