Even better...

quote:

For this coming school year, City Schools’ budget has ballooned to $1,620,788,542. That’s nearly $230 million more than the previous year’s budget of $1,393,777,695. It amounts to about a 16 percent increase. Enrollment in City Schools is going down and has been for years. So, that’s a lot more money for fewer students.

quote:

City Schools’ $1.6 billion budget divided by the number of budgeted students enrolled comes out to $21,606 per student. According to the most recent U.S. Census report released this year, $21,606 makes Baltimore City Schools the fourth most-funded large school system in America. The three districts that spend more than Baltimore are New York City, Boston and Washington DC. Those districts have much better national test scores. All three have just about double the number of students proficient in reading when compared to Baltimore.

quote:

According to City Schools budget, almost all of the 16% increase in this year’s budget will go to Mid-Level Administration and Instruction, which will cover things like teacher salaries.

From a Baltimore Sun article a couple years ago.

We spend waaaay too much money on Public Ed for the results we get.

They need less money, not more.

#1 problem...Put up a successful white man with ISD experience as the head of the district, and see how they'll bite their nose off to spite their face.

Things will change when blacks realize that them voting/supporting only their own kind is the root of their problem.

They'll end up with reparations at some point.

Something Something Something, White Supremacy, Something Something, Asians are white people Something Black Lives Matter. This may be an unpopular observation that is factual, but the black community as a whole refuses to do any self reflection and take any responsibility for their problems. It is made worse by self loathing white people who tell them it isn't their fault and not to worry about accountability. To be fair we have this problem among all races ,but blacks have this problem at a disproportionately high percent.

At best they’ll be dealing drugs on the streets

No. They will graduate college with a degree in enviromental equity & social justice studies. They will qualify for high paying jobs to get a companys ESG score up to the level of federal mandates.

It's about feelings not intelligence.

Our public schools as a whole are nothing but glorified daycare centers for our children with a curriculum of woke cultural marxism.....the cost per child in the US educational system should be providing the nation with an overflow of intellectual talent to lead the world.

Getting the “colonizer” out doesn’t give you Wakanda. It gives you Baltimore.

Are the kids quad vaxxed? Is the catholic chur... err... the KKK scaring the minority kids out of their math classrooms? Maybe if we had more money for dem programs? Midnight basketball? Or we can just ignore test scores because that upholds the white cis-normative patriarchy? Maybe we can pin this on climate change?

Well, IF there were one or two they would probably be beaten to a pulp in the school bathroom and set straight on what the priorities are.

Conservative,

This is exactly what happened to my nephew in the NYC school system. Teachers pointed out how well he was doing, and you guessed it. Several..... coping a feel on his girlfriend in the hall so he had to defend her and the mob jumped him.

School would not do squat since obama passed the "dear collegue letter" which clearly states if minorities are disciplined at a higher rate than their percentage of the school makeup....the school risks all funding pulled.

So the rignleader stayed in school til graduation day....when he stabbed the valedictorian. You know "respt (thats respect in the english language) and all".

It's a joint venture. Parents have just as much responsibility as the school to educate their kids.

On an added note, doesn't counting and doing math come in handy when selling drugs (or buying for that matter)?
