Damnit! The gods of depopulation are angered. How many additional abortions will now have to be performed to appease them?

My dad has been hit with severe vascular dementia. It started with digestive issues that started pretty much immediately after getting the covid shots in January 2021.

Digestive issues never went away, to this day, and his motor functions and mental response started dipping later that year and have been on a crazy decline ever since.

He is miserable, lost, angry, confused, soiling himself, refuses to bathe (from a guy who was always super focused on his hygiene), and his wife is about to put him in a nursing home because she can't handle him.

It's so painful to watch. And even moreso when he seems to know just enough at times to let you know he's miserable.

I've never really thought about euthanasia until these last couple of years.

When the people who love you are supportive of suicide, you can understand why someone would have a skewed view of life.

If I read that correctly, and her mother was there to support her during this event; then her mother is a true piece of shite and likely the source of her problems.

I hate reading that. You and your family have my sympathy.

I don’t think many of us would until we’re faced with the reality of situations like we’ve faced. Which, admittedly, are extreme and not the norm. But they exist and to take away that option is honestly cruel. Make it available and put in safeguards like are mentioned in the OP in case there is a last minute change of heart. But to deny it altogether is not acceptable.

This is powerful.

And look at her beautiful picture. Guys, this could easily be you or me, or someone we know and love. Fight for life!

Everything about the depressing nihilism of Western culture is in this story.

Depression is an illness that needs to be cured, NOT a reason to allow one to kill themselves.

Just saw a podcast that related chronic depression to low cholesterol levels. They've been lying about many things for a long time.

There certainly are a lot of things affected by a lack of good fats. Brain health being one of them.

Hopefully she is sterilized so she does not pass down her mental illness

That is what should be happening

It’s hard for me to imagine what sort of monstrous human one would have to be, in order to be an active eagerly willing participant in such a scenario.

One of the things I’ve always wondered about “assisted suicide” is what happens when you get to the situation where you can’t find anyone actually willing to “assist.” I guess we (or some societies) have crossed the bridge to where we don’t ever have to worry about that being an issue under any possible scenario.

The problem isn't with euthanasia. The problem is allowing it for dumb reasons like depression. It should only be allowed if you have a terminal illness with little quality of life.

Some people want no restrictions, others a total ban. The rational solution is in the middle.

Her mother was there?

I have news for you. Trying to kill my kid, even at their own request, won't be met with quiet silence or tears. You can euthanize my kid when you step over my dead body. Make that two bodies. You will have to take out their mother also.
