People have been saying that for years while also saying “Don’t drill because it won’t come online for a decade.”

If I had a nickel for every time I’d heard “We’re about out of oil”, I’d have a shitload of nickels.

I don't know what's more scary, the fact that the leaders of a whopping majority of the countries on this planet are all that stupid, or that many people know something that the common American doesn't.

If you really think all of that is going to happen nation wide you would be a complete fool to not be making plans to invest in your own PV system with battery storage and transitioning to an electric vehicle.

But let's say you're right (you aren't) ...what benefit is it to the state to completely immobilize the population that they depend on as a tax base and to make the goods and services the elites depend on?

It's not that they would, it's that they can. It is the master/slave relationship.

And 199 of these countries reps will go back to their mother country and tell their folks "We got those dumbass Americans believing we'll do this to get their money, and keep pumping oil out of the ground as we choose!"

For what. 95% of this is never going to happen. They’ll shower money out to waste on certain projects, but we aren’t moving off of fossils fuels. They can circle jerk at every COP Conference from here to 2050.

I think you mentioned this before about being dead in 50 years. All of these guys who signed the document will be dead in 50 years. They won't be around to hear whining about the results be it success or failure. They're making points with somebody in charge right now. They don't care about the future.

Conservative Americans are approaching this all wrong. They should screaming from the mountaintops. It is racist to abandon fossil fuels because it will economically crush Arab countries

Ain’t a bad position. Especially considering how everyone loves Arabs now.

Nuclear plants should be built all over the world but instead, we will try something far more inefficient and far more damaging to the environment like solar, windmills, etc

Small "modular" nuclear plants are in the works...at least for now.

I want every one who voted for that to agree to put a windmill farm in their backyards.

That and "peak oil" too. I can remember a Disney animation with a character in a white sciency smock in the 1950's saying how we had only a decade or so left of oil.

How stupid is this? Yeah, let's all go to the horse and buggy again to fight a war with China while they use fossil fuels to spank our arse!

If we had gone to nuclear energy in the 70s then we would have solved the energy problem by now but noooo, the commie one-worlders didn't want to do that so blame the lefties.
