I'll be surprised if this is not summarily dismissed.

Why don't you elaborate a little bit for us dullards. Do companies have a right to discriminate in their services based on age, sex, race, etc or do they not?

I'm actually quite interested to see how the courts interpret this as I believe they've been quite unclear and this flips the political positions of the complainants and their supporters.

While many of us think they should, the proggies have already set the precedent that you CAN’T refuse service, so this is just using their own ammo against them.

ITs very very simple. Age is not a protected class.

Why? Unless he’s being barred from the military or going to vote, he doesn’t have a case being a 20 year old. They are not a protected class.

It is discrimination by age under state law.
While there is no federal law surrounding age and the second amendment it may provide a test case.

The cake bakers did not have a problem selling cakes to gay people, they did not want to decorate the cake in such a way to promote gay marriage.

Dicks and Walmart aren’t not selling guns to 18-20 yr olds based on their intended use, they are refusing to sell to all 18-20 yr olds period.

It’s over 40 where this is an issue, but I was not aware Oregon has actual age discrimination laws unlike most of the rest of the country. If this went up to the Supreme Court it would be dismissed, but I’m not sure it will in Oregon specifically.

Absent a carve out regarding old people in employment situations, yes, yes they do.

That was the thrust of my initial reply, too. Turns out, Oregon (where this was filed) does have age as a protected class.

Is this 20 year-old asking for a custom-made gun?

How? That is age discrimination. It is a thing. Educate yourself.

Except the courts can't rule one way and then rule the other way in this case. I agree with what you state, but the courts made their ruling and now we move forward to this case where they now have to rule in favor of the 20 year old.
