20 People Arrive For Griner Homecoming Party, ESPN Gets Mad

Staff members at University Baptist Church (UBC) in Waco, TX (just a handful of miles from Baylor University) wanted to host a welcoming party for Brittney Griner on Monday after the Baylor alum returned from Russia.
But not too many people were keen on joining this celebration, and only 20 people actually attended the event, which is kind of hilarious.
Naturally, when ESPN found out, they wrote a long article in which they criticized the citizens of Waco and higher-ups at Baylor for not showing “adequate” support for the WNBA star.

So double the crowd of a typical WNBA contest?
They should be thrilled.

They are mad that a christian organisation didn't shower love all over a lesbian.

Put religion aside. This bitch's selfish actions are the reasons one of the most dangerous men on earth is now free to cause death. Her only claim to fame is being marginally better at an unpopular sport, mostly based on her physical freakishness. There is nothing to celebrate here.

ESPN could pay people to show up.

We're at the doorstep of being N. Korea, folks.

That's as bad as Stalin's 'applaud till given the sign rule' after his speeches before the Soviet Congress. You stand and applaud for 10 minutes or more until the sign. If you get tired and stop after 8 minutes you are never seen again.

" Sharyl West Loeung, a speaker and “facilitator,” at UBC, said in the piece. "But otherwise, from an administrative point of view, that hasn't happened. For myself, coming from a graduate of the seminary and having worked there and [knowing] how much they confess being this Christian organization, I really wanted to see more.”

Just to be clear, and I haven't located any article that states otherwise, Griner didn't attend her own "Homecoming Party", correct?
