Gotta say, I have been pleasantly surprised by President Trump. He's pretty much done what he campaigned on in 2016.

A $275 million contract has been awarded to an Alabama company to start construction of a 14-mile border wall in Laredo, Texas.
Similar to other portions of border wall being built in South Texas and throughout the Southwest, this project will consist of a 30-foot-high bollard wall with all weather roads, enforcement cameras and special lighting, according to a announcement made by U.S. Customs and Border Protection late Friday.
This will be the first portion of a border wall to go up in Laredo, which sits across the Rio Grande from Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.
The contract was awarded to Caddell Construction Company LLC of Montgomery, Alabama, and construction is slated to begin in January 2021. However, much of the land in Webb County is privately owned and must be obtained before construction can begin.

Sleepy Joe ain’t winning. The Dems are shooting themselves in the foot with these gross civil liberties violations.

Eh, Republicans are also not helping the cause

There is a good chance it will persist even if Trump loses.
Remember when the Repubs had the Senate/House/WH and they were going to replace Obamacare?
Remember when Dems had Super Majority Sentate/House/WH and did nothing on immigration?
Politics is telling people what they want to hear and then actually do nothing. Biden might stop a little chink of wall to claim a victory, but I bet what has let will still go.
Safest thing to do is vote Trump back in, do not be a Toddy.

I have sat on the balcony in the back of the La Posada Hotel in Laredo and watched them just walk across the Rio Grande.

Yeppers, I know this has been said just about every presidential election BUT this one, the '20 election, is going to be super critical for our nation in many many ways.
From the balance in the US Supreme Court, federal judges, getting us back in these idiot trade deals like TPP, continuation of the construction of America's border wall on the southern border...and the list goes on.
We must, and I repeat, MUST re-elect Trump as President.
BTW, America's border wall in Laredo is going to be around 69 miles in total length:
quote:
The federal government on Monday released for the first time the proposed alignment of the border wall in Webb and Zapata counties, a continuous barrier for 69 miles starting at the Colombia Solidarity Bridge and ending just south of San Ygnacio.
This is a proposed 30-foot-tall steel bollard structure with a 150-foot-wide “enforcement zone” that entails clearing all vegetation between the river and the wall. The maps show a proposed alignment running relatively close to the Rio Grande, following its contours.

Once our wall goes up in Laredo, that's pretty much going to stop.
No more easy access in that section of the US/Mexican border to funnel illegals into the country.
The drug cartels are using teenagers to smuggle drugs into the US to be distributed all throughout the country.
And right across from Laredo is the notorious ultra-violent drug cartel los zeta.
Beheadings, torture, kidnapping, murder, drug smuggling, murder, human trafficking...
The worst of the worst, LZ is one of the most violent, vicious cartels in all of Mexico.

Critics will say that the small sections of fencing aren’t very useful, but even these small stretches will help funnel illegals into unfenced areas where border control will be prepared to apprehend them.

IDK about that man.
Trump had to go through hell to get funding for our border security system on the southern border.
But the new wall system has been paying huge dividends where its been put in place.
El Paso is much safer as is San Diego and the other places the new wall system has went in place.
Looks like we will be focusing on building the southern half of TX, from Laredo down to Brownsville, TX for the near future.

I have a lot of customers in El Paso and the valley. Most of them in the valley are pretty conservative. I can usually talk politics with either side if it comes up and keep it civil.
ALL my EP customers are liberal. One of them was talking about how stupid the wall was. I said people can still freely cross the three border entries it’s just trying to limit crossing to those locations. He said we have low crime not a lot of cartel issues any more. I pointed out that you did in the late 90s and early 00s, what changed?

He just shook his head at facts.

The Mexican news would show pictures of some of these deaths. Some were pretty gruesome.

My daughter went on a Texas Youth Hunt on the ranch that is the northern piece of this line. Beautiful place owned by the family with the Bud distributorship in the valley.
The guy talked alittle about it and how he I s a conservative Republican but didn’t agree with the wall because it’s not that big of an issue there. Next morning, there are 16 girls with a parents out in deer stands and all hell breaks loose with Border Patrol helicopters, Broncos, trucks with scissor lift viewing platforms. Apparently there was an issue that morning.
Standing there on the back porch of their Hacienda overlooking the river was gorgeous but that wall will be awful for them. I don’t feel too bad for them because they sell beer for a living and they bought 5000 acres in the Texas Hill Country on the Blanco River.

I understand the frustration of the wall for people down there. It’s an eyesore and it makes us seem unwelcoming. I honestly don’t want a wall. I believe what the Bible says about immigrants and refugees and a wall stands contrary to that.
I have a small backyard with an amazing deck that opens up to a park. I’d love to do away with my privacy fence or just to a wrought iron open fence.
But I also have a really nice deck with furniture, mounted TV, etc. that I don’t want stolen. A fence isn’t going to stop anybody from breaking into my backyard and stealing my stuff, but it does deter people from doing it openly.

Yep, the President delivers. Having said that I agree the wall is beautiful. An absolutely amazing engineering feat.
Thank you President Donald J. Trump.

No wall is going to be 100% effective so does that mean we just throw up our hands and forget about it?
Sometimes I think the left wants the our new wall system to intentionally fail, just to make trump look bad.
I don't really get this line of thinking in a rational sense.
I know the left hates Trump but c'mon man, this is for our national defense.
We have hundreds of people dying EVERY day from the poison that is coming across the border.
The cartels are kidnapping, murdering...wreaking havoc
BTW, a huge contract has just been awarded for our Arizona Wall project.
By the time its finished, nearly 75% of the AZ southern border will have the new 'super wall' in place.
