If you are unvaxxed and catch covid you are more likely to end up in the hospital.
This is no surprise.
What they don't tell you is that whether you are vaxxed or unvaxxed the likelihood of you ever being hospitalized for covid is very very very unlikely.
99% vaxxed won't end up in hospital.
97% of unvaxxed will never see inside of hospital.
So it's not lie to say you are many times more likely to be hospitalized than not but both scenarios are very unlikely.
Protect the vulnerable.
Mass vaccination is stupid.

The number the article put out was 2.44% of death (since January but that doesn’t make much sense)
I’m also wondering how it breaks down by vaccination type and the effectiveness of J&J was never advertised as being as high as the other 2

Why does that matter? Even if the vaccine provided some durability against symptoms, its still not exempting me from masking and other controls, spreading, or contracting. If I'm young and healthy, or have covid anti-bodies, I'd be taking the vaccine at some unknown measure of risk with very little benefit. Understanding the real efficacy of the vaccines matter, unless you are a complete and total sheep who does whatever the government tells you to do.

Flu vaccines are in the neighborhood of 75% efficacy in trials, but have effectiveness of 20-60% in the real world.

EFFICACY not EFFECTIVENESS.
Since your linked article is behind a paywall, I can’t check it out, I’ll assume they re-examined the folks in their clinical trial. Which is different than the mass vaccination events we’ve had for this thing which has included people rolling up in 80+ degree heat to get a shot in a YMCA parking lot drive-thru.

First you are starting off with not even knowing how many people actually died FROM Covid. Because you don't know that figure, you CAN NOT know how effective the vaccine is.
