Did you support the home to home warrantless searches after the Boston bombing?

Those Boston cops were a damn JOKE. They literally shut down a major American city for 2-3 days to derp around for an inexperienced teenage punk that somehow ESCAPED FROM MULTIPLE POLICE DURING A SHOOTOUT. Was a complete farce when the Boston cops were honored as heroes instead of the incompetent boobs they were.

I fully support what the police forces up there are doing. Whey they catch the killer everything will go back to normal. Right now the inconvenience is minor and welcomed by the vast majority of residents in the area.

People not being allowed to return to THEIR own homes and being forced to sleep in their cars is minor?

Did you support what went down in Boston too?

I absolutely support what the police did in Boston otherwise the guys might still be alive and on the loose.

LOL

You do realize that a civilian is the one that ultimately caught the suspect, right?

I've never called the police in my life. I have a dog at home...

BPD were a damn clown show that week. Arguably the worst high-profile policing in American history. Was insane how they got so much love for doing an absolutely horrendous job.

You make it sound so simple and sweet now. Hind-site works like that.
At the time there was still a great deal of confusion. Even by following along on the long arse thread on the O-T you could sense that they still didn't know how many people were for sure involved in the beggining and then it was unknown if there were other bombs or what weapons they had.
Yes, some of it and some of the police actions are too overblown, but it isn't like barny fife could have driven around with his six shooter asking everyone if they have seen the bad guy and hoping he comes out with his hands up.

What would you have them do?

1) If I were a fascist, I would run a live lockdown drill just to see how the sheople responded.
2) If I were a freedom-loving protector of the constitution and republic, I would have investigated the crime, as is done in every other case.

1 cop gets killed and they're going to lock down an entire county, run around in helicopters and armored vehicles wearing camo and army helmets? Truly world gone mad.

"At no time did we completely restrict access to homes in the area," said Trooper Adam Reed, in a prepared statement released to the media. "If a resident required access to their home for a vital reason, such as retrieving medication, we provided an escort to their home to ensure their safety."
So, if you were in your home you couldn't leave. If you were outside of your home, you couldn't enter. If you had some """""vital need""""" you could get escorted in, but then they wouldn't let you stay. Ridiculous!

If you're in trouble, police will show up in time to fill out a report on whatever happened.

It doesn't matter what the police think will work tactically if it is unconstitutional. Unconstitutional is unconstitutional.
