The genie and u verse equipment is slower than the hopper. Kind of like running an iPhone 3g vs a 5s.

Dish is also cheaper for more channels and they offer CST.

And Dish will have SEC Network.

I have had Dish since 2000 and have never had any complaints. I currently have 2 hoppers and 3 joeys. With 2 hoppers I never have any conflicts with recordings.

I can hook you up with a friend referral for Dish if you decide to go that way. I think you get a $50 credit or something.

I'd rather have CST and SEC Network than Sunday NFL Ticket.

So will DirecTV, especially with AT&T purchasing it

I have DirecTV now, but had no problems with Dish until they briefly lost all of the Fox Sports channels a few years ago.

Both Dish and Direct will have the occasional spat with the TV stations when it comes time to renew contracts. Usually when they do I call and complain and they offer me $5 off for a few months.

Go Dish, Hopper with Sling & don't look back. Best of Show award winning 2 years back to back @ CES with good reason. Heck, you can't even get WatchESPN thru DTV much less, ability to watch anything, anywhere, with DishAnywhere.

After the launch of the SEC network CST will be basically useless. No more LSU stuff and the Pelicans are not on there anymore. What's left, Saint's Pre Season?

Dish with Sling and the Dish Anywhere app ftw.

Better price, better content and better tech.

I'm going through this same debate. Currently leaning towards Dish because of the SECN.
