our coach said it was a team discipline issue. surely it's not only the astute espn reporters we're getting all worked up about huh?

Noone has confirmed it and Miles was vague with his "way left of center" response.

I'm wondering how many of you people throwing the suspended players under the bus would still be doing so if this "rumor" of failed drug tests had not been leaked.

Say all you know is "disciplinary" issue is the reason they are suspended...you still willing to crucify these players then??

I doubt it.

No one, although the silence has been conspicuous. If there truly were no failed drug tests, and the issue had nothing to do with drug tests, wouldn't Miles or some other university spokesman simply have unambiguously said as much? There have been numerous published reports referencing failed drug tests. Typically, you wouldn't allow those slanderous reports to remain in the public realm unrefuted if they truly had no basis. Put another way, if the issue has nothing to do with drugs, I don't see what incentive LSU would have not to say that.

Huh? This is not equivalent to the JJ situation, where there was an ongoing police investigation into a brawl which unequivocally did take place. Imagine, for just a moment, that there are, in fact, no failed drug tests. LSU risks nothing and prejudices no one by stating "Reports of failed drug tests are innaccurate" or somesuch. There would be no negative consequences to such a statement, so far as I can tell.

I just find it odd that LSU would allow damning allegations of failed drug tests to remain in the press and public domain if they were absolutely baseless and unfounded. Why allow completely false reports of failed drug tests to be associated with your program and players if they were untrue? Doesn't make much sense to me. I suspect there is some granule of truth there.

I still maintain they could be the first to feel Les' wrath over breaking the 30 second twitter rule.

kids talk. they tweet, they facebook. people close to situations say things in confidence to others and it gets passed around and around. it's like the telephone game. you say a simple statement, and by the time it comes back around so much other shite has been added its a mutated statement.

kid tells his gf, gf says something to her friend. her friend tells a friend who posts it on a message board...and that's how it all starts.

Wasn't their some dispute as to what happened with Baker? Correct if wrong, but everyone thought it was a drug suspension, then later someone said he snuck out after hours. My point is that no one really knows whats going down, at least no one with a credible source, that I've heard.

If it is a failed drug test, whoever did would be stupid to come forward bc they would lose their job/position and be faced with a HIPPA fine
