I actually thought it was a reporter in Alabama. It was on her twitter page before it was anywhere else. Chicken kept wacking the threads that linked her twitter site.

If it wasn't true I would think that the university would have a responsibility to clear the student athletes good name. The university's silence as to what has been reported in the media is confirmation enough in my opinion.

So silence = presumed guilty.

OK, gotcha.

Put another way, if the issue has nothing to do with drugs, I don't see what incentive LSU would have not to say that.

you never answer yes or no to questions like this because that opens the door for a reporter to go through a laundry list of possibilities...

In this case yes. If you can't connect the dots as to why the university would deny this on behalf of the accused students then I'm not going to bother.

You don't have to hold a press conference you could just release an official statement.

interesting angle, just looking at the first page of google there seems to be some cases where releasing drug related info is a HIPAA violation.

Not that I am an avid espn watcher, but they have been saying that "The Times Picayune has been quoting a source close to the LSU football team"...

WOW. I guess that same 'one of the guys on the team' knows who killed Kennedy, as well.

Ask him where Hoffa is buried and the winning numbers to Saturdays lotto.

It sounds like it was a legal, non-performance enhancing drug. It may be a banned substance according to the NCAA. Why would this be a huge deal? And why would it necessitate greater than a one game suspension?
