quote:Yes, but low selection. I might just stop by a Lafayette Academy on my way down next Thursday. I'll be by myself and all the time I need to shop. I need more mirrodines anyway.
Does Security still sell rods?

Told you wrong Alx. Spinning rod is a Daiwa. The shimano is on a bait caster

You need a hug, use the Statue of Liberty rod

Always have issues with the guides on their rods. Not sure why they cant get it figured out considering how good their fly rods are

Kemo where are you guiding out of?

TFO didn’t make things right for you? I have the 8 ft trout/panfish and like it BTW. The action is just about perfect for crappie fishing, and a lot better than some of the other brands I tried.

I use the G Loomis e6x inshore spinning for anything not with a popping cork inshore, spinning and baitcaster. I use the Falcon coastal popper for my popping cork rod.
Really like all the setups I have like this.

Anyone fish the Kistler rods? Fished with a friend’s KLX model (light/medium) and really liked it.

Never checked rod selection at La Ave academy but they typically stocked on plastics. Urbanaires are more likely to purchase bullets & basketballs.

Best spinning rod I use for inshore is a Medium St. Croix Legend Xtreme. Usually have that rigged with a paddle tail and sensitivity of that rod is crazy good.
Picked up a medium Cajun Coastal rod several years back that has become my de facto popping cork rig. Has a lot of play in it.
Top water rod is a TFO professional- it’s a fast action but still pretty stiff, perfect for top waters
Going after reds? Medium or medium heavy. Trout? Medium light to medium. Just want one to do it all? Just stick with a medium, fast action.

Man I've got 3 All Stars from them some time back that are awesome trout rods. Forget the model but I believe they have "Trout, Redfish Special" wrote on them. Or something like that. Medium action rod. They have been excellent trout rods. I also have one of the older blue Sellus rods that I sub in when bringing extra guys who don't have their own stuff. The Falcon Coastals have been great to me as well.
Those All Stars were going for $100 each. This was probably 8yrs ago. YMMV.

Unless you only fish for gator trout, I like the ML for trout. Multi use I go up to M.
The bull bay banshee (USA) is pretty sweet, and the jyg revolution inshore is awesome. Newer company
St croix premium are sc2 and made in USA. New models just came out. Great warranty.
Have an older ASR trout series that's one of my favorite rods.
Fancy stuff....I do actually think my expride is worth it. Same for Zodias. Jdm stuff is better. Zodias travel rod is really awesome.
Have the falcon alltrax for the kids, nice short rod at 6'6. Great value at 50$. Have a 15 yr old lowrider that's still going.
You can never have too many rods.

Whenever you break a TFO rod, they give you the option of replacing it with a new one at a little less than 50% of MSRP. It doesn’t have to be the same rod model or anything.

I have 8 of the St Croix Triumph Medium 7-6 with 2000 Shimano stradics on them for guiding. They are perfect for trout. Especially if you use a lot of artificial.
10 pound power pro and a 20 pound leader.
I have a few of the 7‘6“ medium heavy but honestly, they’re a little heavy for me for artificial. For swim Baits anyway. I use them for live bait fishing around the mangroves for snook.
