Your bowhunting gear list

That time of year is upon us, separating the men from the boys. I am always interested in what works for other hunters. Here is my gear:
Hoyt Charger w/ QAD rest, HHA single pin sliding sight, custom strings, Scott little goose release.
Treewalker climbing stand
Millennium M100U Hang on with Hawk and Muddy sticks
API handclimber
Millennium tree seat
All public land hunting for me. In the market for a new bow, but I cant quit the Charger yet, it just shoots too good.

I am an old man so my first priority each year is a brand new safety line for each lock-on.
As my arthritis gets worse, the more I am learning about bow hunting from a ground blind.
Enjoy it while you can!!

That sure is a detailed list.
I shoot a Bear bow. Idk what model it is. Muzzy broadheads on arrows that I have no clue who makes them but they are about $6 each at the local hardware store. Trophy ridge sight and fall away rest
I have a millennium lock on, and a few other cheaper ones and assorted ladders and sticks
Cheap range finder I got for under $100 at Cabelas

Just bought a new Elite Ritual bow. Currently rigging it out but if you haven’t shot one.....don’t. You will not leave without it. The 90% letoff is insane.

For you, maybe.
Hoyt bow that needs re-strung. QAD Rest. Three pin sight because I don’t understand shooting a single pin. Muzzy three blade broadheads.
Tried and true.

Bowtech Invasion, ripcord drop away, Axion 5pin w/ slider, shoot a trufire release
Bout a muddy setup this year for hang and hunts. 4 muddy pro sticks and muddy outfitter lock on. Still have the old man climber too.
If you're in the market for a new hoyt, Hewitt's here in Ferriday is no longer carrying Hoyt. They have a brand new defiant for $700. Smooth shooting bow.

Hoyt Alphamax, Fuse 5 pin site, QAD rest
Summit Open Shot climber
Easton FMJ with Magnum Slicktricks.
I also would love a new bow, but this Alphamax has been and still is nails.
Planning on getting a lock on. Hate sweating my arse off early season with climber.

Elite synergy with a sword twilight hunter 5 pin and a biscuit. Cheap carbon Express predator 2 arrows with slick trick standards. Every type of stand I can think of from ground blinds to lock on to box blind.

I just have a starter bow I was given by a friend who upgraded and I was thinking about finally upgrading myself. Was looking at the Hoyt Powermax, seems like a great bow for the money and all reviews I’ve read have been great. Anyone have one who can share thoughts or have a recommendation for a similar quality bow in that $500 price range?

The Powermax replaced the Charger, and I love my Charger. I didn't care about brand when I bought. I just bought what was most comfortable and felt right in my price range. The Powermax will be a fine bow.

Bear Arena 34, QAD rest, single pin sight, Elusive Wildlife Technologies light, Tru-Fire release.
Gold tip arrows with Blazer vanes and Grim Reaper broadheads.
Thermacell. Extra Thermacell.
Whatever ladder stand I feel like going to that day. Assorted brands and some homemade.
Boss Buck feeder. Timer set to when I want them to walk out.
Summit climbing stand if I feel like chasing them. But it’s entriely too hot for that until late November/early December.
Leica range finding binoculars.
Last but not least, face paint. For the #instagram.

I shot a charger for about 5 years. I liked it. I sold it a few weeks back and bought an elite. Should have done that years ago. Such a smooth bow. Also shooting a qad hdx with hha optimizer lite.

Thermacell is the most important early season piece of gear you have.

Never had the need for one of these but I also don’t hunt the south. Guess I’ll consider myself lucky.

Treewalker is a Cadillac. Pricey, but in my opinion worth it. Very simple and lightweight, plenty of leg room. Made in the USA. With the net seat the top platform sits lower than say a Summit that has a hanging seat. Great for bowhunting. The bar across the front can be removed once you are up. Couldn't be happier.
I got the API Bowhunter I got off my neighbor who was moving to Illinois. Moving truck was full and he had to leave some things behind and since I had helped him move he gifted it to me. Completely open front. Can take most bow shots while seated. Takes more effort to climb and 100% fall protection WHILE climbing is a must! Great climber to leave in the woods or pack out. Light and compact. Not comfortable enough for long, long sits though.
