re: Why can’t we buy ammo?

Very good friend of mine that has a gun store ordered 175k worth of ammo and primers. 2 pallets of primers, 2-3 barrels of 5.56, pallet of hunting ammo and I don’t remember what all pistol ammo.
Said hunting ammo is 6months out and primers, 5.56, 9mm are at least a year.

I have enough primers to last me awhile. I learned from that shite the last few times.
I use Remington 9 1/2 primers for all my large rifle primer needs. I didn't realize how few I had and used my last box a few weeks ago. I did a primer inventory yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to find out I'm in better shape than I thought. I bought some reloading supplies 5-6 years ago from a guy who was quitting due to health problems and needed the money. He sold me 3K Winchester LR primers that I'd completely forgotten about. Now I've got lots of LR primers, but I'll have to rework up every load if I don't find some 9 1/2's by next year.

Back in 2012 and 2013 some of posters on AR-15 figured out how to order directly from the warehouses suppling cabekas and bass pro through a “ back door” link
It was shared on here among certain posters
You could order ammo directly from the warehouses and have it shipped to your house instead of standing in line at either store.
It was good to go for a few months until they figured it out and put a stop to it. I ordered 10 green metal boxes of 5.56 this way and several other calibers especially .22 I think I had at one time 25,000 rounds that I let family, friends, and others buy when they couldn’t find any.
We kept it to small orders but eventually someone started ordering huge quantities and it was discovered.

I have 5k Federal 215 and 1k FGGM 215m
My brother has 8k or 9k FGGM 210M and 1k CCI NO. 34
We are in good shape.
He also has about 20lb IMR 4064
I use RL 19 and I don't have much. Enough to make a few boxes of ammo. I'll find someone willing to trade if I need it.

We can't find cheap ammo because all the unrest and uncertainty going on caused a massive panic buying frenzy, and then people began paying higher prices to keep getting stuff.
Supply and demand kicked in, and as long as demand remains high, so will prices.
I browse some firearms forums, as it's a hobby I enjoy. Look at this, from a guy who has a really nice collection of guns overseas, and shoots as much/more than I do...

That was from this fall, when things had already gone bad over here. Dude posted again yesterday, still shooting without concerns.
So, WWB, S&B, Magtech, Geco... $200/1k. Normal pre-covid prices. Plenty of stuff available to shoot, and buy more.
I just did a google search and found a shop in Canada, Blazer Brass 9mm, case of 1k is 240 USD (and no, they won't ship to the US
), plenty in stock.
If people would have stopped buying when prices rose, instead of willingly paying 2x-4x the price, we'd be seeing that over here still. Just my opinion, but the reason it costs so much, is that someone is willing to buy it.

Aarond
.
We do not experience shortages driven by election anguish like you guys have, supply is steady and plentiful, lots of European ammo (Ruag / Geco, Sellier & Bellot), Brazilian Magtech, even Winchester white box. Best deals are around $ 200 / 1000.

No, if politicians would quit fricking with our rights and stop making bone headed decisions we'd never see ammo shortages because nobody would go bonkers stock piling ammo and components. This shite is done by design.
Prices are just reflected by supply and demand. I'd sell a few primers for a decent price but I'm not giving them away at cost when they they are unicorns. Federal primers are always the first to disappear.

If you I build a 350 legend, that ammo is on the shelf everywhere I go.

No, NE MS. About an hour away.
Jim (owner at Tactical) has a good store for AR stuff but it isn’t great for hunting stuff.

The same thing happened in 2012/2013 with Obama.
In about 3-4 years the market will be saturated and you’ll be able to find it aplenty and at decent prices

I ordered 10K rounds of PMC 5.56 back then. DHL shipped it to my house on a pallet. They used a fork truck to put in my garage. My wife was not happy lol. I think I paid .21 CPR back then. I should have bought 100K.

Yep lots of people got ammo this way.
I was buying some every payday and stockpiled quite a bit. .22, 5,56, 7.62, and some rifle calibers that was getting difficult to find

Panic buying similar to the aftermath of the Sandy Hook shooting. I don't think one will let up though.
I don't think Biden is necessarily anti-gun, but the rest of the democrats are. Unfortunately (due to his metal state), I'm not sure Biden will be making most of the major decisions of his administration.

There are videos of him and Harris saying they want to ban AR’S by executive order in the first 100 days. What more proof do you people need?

I won a 350 legend in some sort of charity raffle last year. Didn't even know what the hell it was. I couldn't find any ammo in the BR area (didn't look very hard) but my brother was able to get me a good bit where he lives in Tx and he just came into town for Christmas. Haven't even shot the gun but if things don't change I've at least got a gun and ammo for next deer season.

I’ve heard of people at academy taking 9mm and putting into .40 boxes then checking out with two boxes of 9 and two boxes of .40
