Redneck, Ill be in BSL this weekend too. I am thinking about going out the cat island. I haven't heard of the bite heating up anywhere yet and I am still tring to figure out iff the trout have started moving out front yet. You heard any good reports or had any luck lately?

The 2 reports I've seen from cat island and pitre have been crap. They have been catching a shite ton sheepshead and drum at the bridges and a good amount of redfish though

I haven't decided where I'm going yet, depends on how drunk I get at night and what time I want to get up

I have heard the same reports about the bridge - my dad and his friends took a couple boats out there two weeks ago and caught all they wanted in drum, redfish, and sheephead.

I also heard the reds are thick at cat island - just trying to confirm it with someone. I know a few guys heading out friday to cat. I guess we will find out.

where dis is?

I've seen some good fish being caught in Bay St. Louis lately. With the Pearl as high as it's been it's made a bunch of specs stay around Mississippi Gulf coast.

Yes I am refering to MS Cat Island. We will see I guess. I need to run the boat some so I will most likly head out there then head back to the bridges/reefs in search of reds/drum for some meat. About another two to three weeks and fishing should heat up at the islands.

Where at cat island have they been catching the reds?

Also, as per the bridges, I was told dead shrimp, is that what your dad and them caught on?

MJ, Isle Au Pitre is 9 miles south of BSL, do a google search as there are maps

ETA:
PITRE is the land mass just northeast of grand pass, the closest one to Cat Island

Anyone happen to do any bass fishing around today or yesterday? I see them all over the banks right now but they're ignoring the cranks I threw at them.

We use dead shrimp mostly, live if you can find it, but nearest place right now I know of live shrimp is Biloxi. As far as cat island, its my understanding they have been doing fairly well when conditions are right. I heard they are catching them in the usual places around the island to south and east. I guess I will find out this weekend.

Hopefully the fishing will heat up and Roscoe can get some live shrimp. I am fishing this weekend, then have other trips planned. Won't be back on the water in BSL till April 20th and 28th. Should be getting right then aournd the full moon.

Been on the water the last two days running trotlines on Old River. Worked my butt off yresterday for only 158lbs. Found them suckers today. THICK and nice size cats! Cought a 162 qt icechest today = to around close to two hundred lbs.

Bad side of things. Don't stop to get a 22 oz budlight with sunglasses on. You might pick the wrong beer. Might pick one of those blue bottle buds.

Tomorrow, I will be staying at the camp for the weekend. Oysters, fresh out the shell. Got a full sack coming. Fried oysters, catfish, shrimp and puppies, BBQ oysters on the half shell too!

No kidding man, Rosco is a great dude as well. I go out of my way to purchase from him.

We didnt realize until we got there one morning that My buddy forgot his wallet at the camp and all I had was ID/fishing license. Rosco gave us the shrimp and said come back and pay me when you get a chance you ain't gunna catch them fish sitting here. Haven't spent a dime at Bay Marina since

You guys every wade fish Cat Island? Buddy has a place in Pass Christian and it would be nice to be able to stop right there instead of running to chand chain.
