I use it. Pay for the yearly subscription. It’s well worth it.
For example, a coworker did a public land hunt in Kentucky and planned the entire trip using onX. Including scouting stand locations. They had excellent success.

I do. It’s great.

It’s good for hunting, but LandGlide is better updated if you want to look up land ownership.

I use it for Montana and Mississippi and love it

What are the advantages of OnX vs HuntStand?

I use it in combination with some other mapping software. Love it.

I use it, worth every single penny. Biggest thing is it shows you all public lands and units, which is a big deal if you hunt out west. It also shows the private land owners as well so you can ask permission.
The maps/imagery are excellent. You can download and use offline in airplane mode and it will last a long time on my iPhone battery alone. You can access and look at your maps and drop pins, routes etc on your desktop and they will show up on your phone app. It’s straight up awesome.

Would just using the app remove the need for a GPS? Can you download the maps and use with satellite like AllTrails does?

I have used it for a couple years. Pretty handy. Worth the cost and you can usually find promo codes easily (meateater for one).

It's incredible for hunting out west and public land in general. That's all I use it for.

Yes, there is no reason to bring a gps anymore unless you just want a redundant system to be safe. I have a garmin that I don’t use anymore, just rock the onX on my phone and unplug it and airplane mode when I get out of the truck to start walking.
Another Promo code is “Randy”

This was key for me this year on Colorado. We had 0 cell service in the mountains.

I still brought me gps at first but soon stopped and only run my phone now. I believe this is my 2nd full season with it.
Honestly I’m not sure how something could be better and $30/year is pretty cheap imo.
I’m on it probably daily looking at maps (hunt public land in Louisiana).
One thing that would be better would be historical satellite options like google earth.

It's perfect for that. Its invaluable for hunting a unit for the first time.

Fellas, I’m technologically deficient...how is the map able to show where you’re at if you’re cell service is turned off in airplane mode? Thank you

It uses the gps chipset in the device.
