Which waders?

My waders have finally given up the ghost. I've been using the Dry Plus breathable waders from Cabelas. At the time that I bought them, those waders were the consensus pick for a no-frills breathable option. Is that still the case? Are you guys using any other breathable models that I should look at? Price is not a big issue, but waders are disposable items, so affordable is good.

I love my Rodgers brand breathable waders. They are basically Frogg Toggs but easier on the wallet. Rodgers Sporting Goods .com

I’ll second the Rogers. Cabela’s no longer makes the dri fits. Wish they did

Magellan breathables at academy are good for the price.
They typically go on sale a few times around the holidays.

I just got the Rogers waders with the zipper. Like them so far. Has removable liner for when it’s hot. Ran dogs with them through the fouchetts and so far they are holding up pretty good.

Not if you buy good ones the first time, I have 9 years on a pair of Simms G4's. I sent them to Simms about 3 years ago to get the Gor-Tex reconditioned and they came back as good as new.

Hard to beat Magellans for the price. Mine have done me well for 3 seasons now.

Price not a big issue? Go with Sitka. Good warranty and rebuildable

Not sure why you got a down vote so I’ll second Simms. Have two pair of the headwaters that are 7-8 years old and still solid. Magellan’s will leak in the crotch seams eventallly but are good for the price.
Simms has a great video on how to repair your waders.

When my dry plus finally die I’ll be looking at Simms.

Magellans
all I buy now
soon as I get the 80 dollar ones home I smear silicone on all the sewn leg and crotch seams, and almost always get three or four years out of them

Can’t be beat but here come the “ain’t with the price” crowd. Lol. They are much too expensive but they are also top notch.

I dont care what waders you buy they all become disposable when you hunt a real tough environment. In and out a mud boat or pirogue, trekking hundreds of yards in flooded marsh and through roseau patches will eventually kill any wader. Do that 30 to 40 times a season and it they will at some point puncture in time. These guys that walk a levee to a rice field get a while out of them, but heck they could do that it tennis shoes.
My favorite were those cableas everyone else mentions, now on to the rogers and theyre decent. I liked the ones macks made for a hot minute, but they're not being produced anymore either.

sure they can
a sharp cane stump or willow branch will poke a hole in any wader no matter what you paid
they are a disposable tool

I got a pair of the banded 2.0 with the brush guard. So far so good.
