I have no experience with AR15s and I am looking at either a Radical 5.56 or .300 Blackout. Or, a Del-ton 5.56.

Radical or Del-ton? Or, neither? The price is about the same for either brand.

I can buy a SMITH & WESSON M&P15 556 SPORT II for $500.00 which is only a few dollars more. I will follow your advice and thank you for it.

Both.

It’s a safe investment.

The barrel on the Smith is a very nice barrel. Radical and Delton aren't known for the quality of their barrels. Smith had a great Warranty and is a well known comodity when it comes with backing their products. Few bucks more will give you a better rifle with more peace of mind.

Maybe I'm lucky, but I got a radical barrel for a budget build. It's seen a ton of rounds, with some of that being full auto.

It's been great for me.

I think that's the big problem with Radical. They cut just enough corners to operate at the bottom price range and keep an above 50% split on satisfied v. unsatisfied customers. As long as you keep enough people countering all the bad in the online forums you'll still have buyers taking a chance to save a lot of money. IMO its bad business and ethics. I would spend more on a product with a subtantially larger amount of good reviews v. bad or a low number of just bad reviews (no one bats 1.000). But at the same time they are still in business so that says something. Also, if you get something that works out well for you then you get a pretty good deal.

My work computer will not let me search for firearms. Where can I get in on this deal?

Go to cdnnsports.com. I have bought a few from those folks and they are easy to deal with. I prefer calling over the online route.

I have a delton sport with the pencil barrel and flat top forward assist upper. It's been a great rifle since I've had it. Wish I'd have gotten the m4 profile barrel though

My first AR build was a delton and it has functioned well. Granted it hasn’t seen but a couple hundred rounds through it.

Market is flooded so buy .223/556 for $500. Built my first one a few yrs ago with a punch set, flat head screw driver and mag well block on my kitchen table in 1 hr for $420 from classic arms. Thanks to that creepy larry potterfield help on youtube(he’s not really weinstein creepy but just OB joke with that lippy dude). Just wanted to do it but if i was getting first AR wouldve just bought one for $500.

Obligatory lost them all in boat crash.
