275wby. I drew 68. I haven't fly fished in years. Was just going to bring spinning rods. Any pointers? What area of river do you recommend? I have been researching hunting but haven't really started researching the fishing yet.

Hank, we hunted 74 two years ago that is above your unit. If you don’t want to tag out on day one, hide your bullets. We went late in the season due to timing of my son’s fall break.
The best part of the Mile is in the canyon. The fish leave the upper lake and move upstream until they hit the dam.
In your unit, there’s the Sweetwater. Son fished it and said it was awesome. No other fishermen. There is walk-in fishing access. Bring extra gas. That area is remote.

Yeah it’s been tough but It’s a cheap lease and it’s close to home.
I don’t own the lease, so I go whoever my buddy wants to go.

Public land
No, a buddy has a cattle ranch and owns 17,000 acres. I spend a week usually hunting the first day and then helping him for the rest of the week.
On Sunday night all the neighboring ranchers come over and I cook a big Jambalaya, Gumbo, or I fry some fish and lots of whiskey is consumed. Since I've been going (11 years) it's sorta expected when I'm there. They start asking in August what weekend I'm headed up.

I’m going to be working in KS the next few months, hopefully it pushes into Dec.Jan. There’s doves up there out the wazoo.

When I am not caught up in California taking care of some business stuff, Oklahoma whitetail on my farm. Hoping to get an Oklahoma elk hunt in at Ft. Sill (it's about 3 hrs away). Probably do some duck hunting in Oklahoma with a buddy.
Along with slaughtering as many squirrels as I can around the farm house. Those bastards did about $500 wiring damage on one of my trucks.
