I have a Sar K2 that I love. Built around the CZ model with the frame mounted rails. SA/DA, 14 round magazines for 15 total rounds of .45 caliber canon balls. It’s fat, but fits my big hands perfectly. I have about a thousand rounds through it with not a single issue of any sort.

everyone should have a 1911

I'm not taking anything away from you baws and your antiques. They're beautiful weapons from a better, vanished time.

But, ain't nobody got time to take that damned thing apart. You have to find like 3 different tools to field strip it down to 437 parts.

I can field strip a Glock or Classic Sig, clean it, lube it ( ) and have it back together before some of you baws get all the safety latches, catches, locks, beavertails ( ) off the thing and the hundreds of parts organized neatly.

You are correct Ace... and when I get another 1911, it will probably be some mil spec or some surplus 1911, just because. If I had to buy one today, the FNX 45 Tactical would be a hard one to beat but the P227 Tacops would probably get the nod.

Taking the beavertail safety is not part of field stripping the 1911.

It takes me like 3 seconds to field strip one.

To the OP.

I have 4 guns in .45 cal
2 1911s
1 Ruger Blackhawk
1 H&K USP

I really like the USP a lot.
one of my 1911's I upgraded the internals on the frame because the trigger in that gun was absolutely terrible (It's a Springfield Champion). I replaced everything with Wilson parts and the trigger is now almost as good as the trigger tech on my bolt action. Stoned the sear and polished some of the parts. The pull is sitting around 3 lbs if I remember correctly.

What? No.

I only need tools for my custom guns, and that's really only to make them easier to take apart.

Sig P220 hands down. If you find one at a range for rent then try it out, then go get your wallet.

Ruger P90, one of the most underrated 45 ACPs of all-time.

Love the gun, it feels like you never run out of rounds.

Cannot get the red dot to co-witness with the gun sight.

That's one of those, "At this weight budget, I might want to consider a carbine."

G30... snappy little bitch

I've got one too. Mines not snappy

I had a G30 (regrettably found it too "thick" to conceal) but sold it almost 20 years ago. VERY soft shooting (shot both 230gr and 185gr) and very accurate. Has something changed with the new generations or with 45 ammo? My G27 (still have), on the other hand, is accurate but VERY snappy (but a downright sweetheart compared to a 357 snub nose revolver).

I’m old, but I love my Glock 21. Depends on what your plan is. Mine pretty much serves as my home defense weapon, but I’ll bring it in the truck with me once in awhile.

Well, then, I guess it would be my 10mm glock 20

Why not have a 10mm 1911 also?
And add 380 and a 9mm too... And throw in another 10mm while we're at it!

Da fuq you talkin bout, Willis?

All you need to tear down a 1911 to the nitty gritty is one spent casing!
