7 lbs but in a private lake. Not sure if that's cheating or not. Caught on a watermelon fluke

That’s cool! The Hula Popper has been out since the 1940’s. Can remember in the 70’s growing up, my dad had a hand me down from my grandfather.

Biggest weighed was 8lb 6oz on a trap at Toledo Bend, but I think this one was bigger. Zoom swim bait on an Owner Flashy Swimmer hook at Indian Creek.

11.7 - Shiner fishing in public water in central Florida.

Best not caught on live bait is 10.4 on, of all things, a 4 inch original Rapala Floating Minnow on a 6 pound spinning reel. I was 12, by myself and that fish drug me all over that pond in a 1030 jon boat. This was in Fulton County, Georgia of all places (Atlanta). That private lake was LOADED with 1-2 pound bass but that 10 pounder was the lake record...the man who owned the house had that fish mounted and it hung in his house for years....he promised to leave it to me when he died but I haven't seen him I 4-5 years and he was 92 then. He may have passed and no one knew me well enough to let me know and I hate to look into it because I prefer the world with that old man in it!

PB on public water with an artificial is 9.8 at West Point - caught on a HUGE white spinner bait slow rolling at about 10 feet in 20 feet of water at the rip rap at yellow jacket creek.

PB smallie is a 4.25lb in Blue River in Oklahoma on a yellow magic. That was a giant for a river smallie. PB Guadalupe was 2.5lb, 16.75" on a TRD Ned Bug. That's a biggun for a guad. PB spot is probably only 2lb. Caught a ton of them over the years but nothing over 16" I bet.

Never caught a Guadalupe But I have caught some Betram's and redeye bass.....never any over 1.5 pounds though....I don't think they get more than 3 or so.

PB Smallie was 4.12, deer hair bug on the Yakima River...that thing was a BEAST. The Yak is full of smallies but that is as big as I ever heard of...I am sure there have been bigger ones.

Best spot was 6 pounds on a Zebco pocket deliar scale...caught in Sweetwater creek in Lithia Springs, GA, at the "Falls" on a black and gold #1 rooster tail...about a 2 mile walk one way up and down what passes for mountains in metro Atlanta...that creek used to be LOADED though with shellcrackers....to 3 pounds....and bass and crappie. A UL spinning reel, a tube of crickets, a box of rooster tails and you could catch 100 fish a day in a pair of cutoffs and a hat! BIG Shellcrackers and 2-3 pound spots weren't uncommon. I saw a guy catch one over 8 one time, on the same deliar, which at that time was close to a world record but he was insistent it was a largemouth.....I was only about 15 at the time so he may have been right but it would've been a spot on Lake Lanier or Lake Alatoona or if I had caught it....

I was 40 when I caught it. Before that, I had never broken 5 lbs. Bass ain't my thing apparently.
