Same. Got standing flooded beans in and around our hole again this year and I have yet to fire a shot in it. Ducks didn't show up until we only had a couple weeks left last year, they'll probably be the same way this year.

On Friday over by hermitage I saw bands of 50-100 ducks every 20 seconds. Probably say 6-8,000 ducks in a few hours. It was unreal.

Was up in central Arkansas this past weekend. Ducks really just getting there now. Geese all over the place. Going to take a lot more cold weather to bring them down here

Anxious to go brush up blinds Friday morning. They SHOULD be there but who knows. Was pretty weak first split bit killed more than most in area, some even gave up (Delacroix). That said, hearing of good many showing in SW La and even in SE La so hoping we've gotten a push

Will be in Venice at the camp but don't have high hopes. Didn't go once during the first split. Just going to hopefully get my pup some experience. Will go hog hunting if there are no ducks.

Haven’t been to brush yet. Will go Friday. My outlook for second split....

Lots of good times to be had. Yea maybe the birds aren’t thick but the camp is always fun and sitting in the blind with family and friends is a helluva time. I just love being out there, watching the sunrise, and enjoying my time. When did everyone become so concerned about just slaughtering ducks every trip?

I enjoy all of those things as well. That's why I prefer duck hunting over deer hunting over. When it's slow we all still have a good time in the blind. Even after barely seeing or killing anything in the first split, I continued to get up early and go.

With all that being said, it would be nice to kill more than 2 ducks while I'm out there.

I have intermittent access to a blind in Bunkie. The owner didn't even call me during the first split. He texted last week apologizing, but said there was no reason for me to go.

Pretty stacked up north of Mer Rouge. Who knows what will happen after we shoot them Saturday. Lots of food and lots of water around.

Can tell you that north of you in lake village a slow season turned on last Saturday and Sunday with a bunch of birds getting killed coming in on the weather. Mallards, greys, pintails mainly. Geese are thick again like they usually are.
