What’s a respectable non-bro height lift/tire for a 4x4 truck

I just bought a 2020 big horn with factory 20s on it. Decent looking truck with hardly any miles (28k) but the way it sits kind of irks me. Slopes forward and the clearance simply doesn’t look off-road height the way it is. And whatever tires they slapped on there to sell it are inexpensive street tires and look like they’d spin in an inch of red mud, so they’re going anyway

Note: Im a middle age guy with kids and not going for the jacked up, try hard look. The most off-roading it’s going to do is riding around 30ac of pecan fields shooting squirrels and occasionally to some sand pits up the road to shoot guns and run my dogs

So really I just want something beefier looking that can handle some light off road driving without messing up what seems to be a pretty smooth ride in general. TIA

2in level with 33s is about right between flat bill and pawpaw truck height.

Toyo open country RT is a good on/off road tire.

Youre reading my mind I checked out a couple of forums and what’s popular seemed to be a 3.5” lift/level with 35s. So that told me that was probably more than I wanted

The pics I saw looked good on the trucks but without pics of an older guy hoisting his arse up into it it’s hard to tell

I have to admit I do like the Nitto grappler style tires with the tread that wraps around the edge. Pretty tough looking. I’d have to look into how they ride on the road though. Not into loud tires

I have a set of ridge graps on my wife’s jeep they are fairly quiet and ride good. They prolly have 30k on them and still are in great shape.
I went with them because my buddy swears by them and runs them on a 2500hd and regularly gets 50-60k miles on them

I'm a fan of 35s. I don't think they are too much. 11.50 width instead of 12.5 makes a big difference.

Whenever I need new tires, this is what I plan to do. Wildpeak AT3’s.

I went full on baw and did full lift and 37’’s on my 22 F-250. I did just a leveling kit and 37’s on my 2017 F-250 but it rubbed at full turn so I went with after market wheels and a 5.5 inch lift on the new one.

I think if you stick with a smaller tire like a 33 and leveling kit it will give you the look you want without rubbing.

2" or level kit with some 295/60's Anything higher than 2" and i would recommend a full-on left kit to keep everything at the correct angles.

highest I would go is 4" lift.

Skintback has a Ram with a 6" BDS Lift and i think 35's. I'm not sure he would have to say. I think he also put Airbags in the rear of his.

My 22 F150 has 35x12.5s and doesn’t rub. Just has a level and no spacers.

I have the Nitto RGs on my TRD Pro, the first set didn’t last very long, but I got slightly larger and stepped up from P to LT models based on Discount Tire suggestions, they claimed I’d get 2X the mileage and they are wearing much slower. This is prob moot in an F250, obviously mileage went down as they are bigger and much heavier tires.

I have been doing front level kit with shocks and Nitto ridge grap 35’s on my last couple of trucks and don’t think it looks too childish for a middle aged man. My kids have been trying to get me to go to 37’s on my new truck, but I think I am going to stick to the 35’s

Heed these words - with the 5th gen Ram's you have to be very specific and do your research. Ram 1500 have the Off Road Group or Rebel and NON Off Road Group. The Off Road group and Rebel are 1" higher than the NON, but the control arms and other components are the same. So if you put a 2" spacer on an Off Road Group truck you are technically 3" higher than a stock/NON off road group truck. Ball joint angles come into play and new control arms are almost a must. Trust me, I've been down this road a few times.

Also the ORG gets it's height from longer springs/struts in the front and longer springs in the rear. If you did a coilover swap on an ORG truck and let's say it's a 2", you will only net 1" of extra height. Rarely I've seen manufacturers specifically say "XYZ" height over Rebel/Off Road Group.

But the generic answer is 2" with about a 34" tire. 275/65, 285/60, 285/65 or 295/60. Below is a pic of my 19 with the Off Road Group. In this pic I have a 2" front spacer, 1" rear spacer, new control arms and 1.25" Bora wheel spacers with 275/65r20 BFG KM3's. Would I do it again? No because I had some kind of bottoming out clank going on. But at the time there were only 2 options on the market for the 5th gen rams. Do your research!

Don't know about full size trucks, but if you go to bigger tires in a Jeep, you may have to re-gear.
