Where do you people live where you need rifles for home defense? Maybe move.
Handgun in the nightstand should be enough, you aren't fighting the military...

I am in the market, and I'm seeing people enjoying the Kuna, APC9, sp5, and scorpion Evo.
This one is head to head featuring the Sig MPX & the Scorpion EVO ----> LINK

I wonder why Glock hasn’t come out with a carbine.

But the most logical answer I give people is "because I want another gun and because I can"

One of the nicer places in Shelby county actually.
No crime where I live, but police take an average of around 30 min to get to my neighborhood. It’s already done at that point and follow up shots are a hell if a lot faster with a rifle. Rifle is also a host to a silencer and light.

In my other life they 1st gave me a M-14, then a M-16, finally a 1911 45APC. Nice thing about the 1911 was that it was very loud. If down range, you could hear the round hum. There was no doubt that you were being shot at by something that could kill you.

I have a cheap Extar with a suppressor on it. Over 2000 rounds and zero issues.

I have a Zenith ZP5K
Love tge MO5 platform. Shoot it suppressed 100% of the time. Very accurate and felt recoil is negligible. The zenith is my secondary bedside gun with M&&P 2.0 rullsiz as primary.
Scorpion SBR

Rugar SR9 for the home. 12g, buckshot, no plug.

I'm not picking on you or aiming to be demeaning, but I really don't understand the appeal of these 9mm frames. None of them are fully automatic and they're all chambered for pistol ammunition.
I do admit they look cool as shite, but insofar as quality defense weapon for pricing I'd much prefer the Beretta M9, 92-F, or 92-X Centurion models chambered in 9mm. Simple sidearms rather than a firearm that looks like something one of the coke dealers carried on Miami Vice but still performs in semi-auto only without increasing effectiveness of a 9mm round.
In truth though, I am interested in what makes this style firearm appealing to so many people. Obviously they wouldn't be so widely carried on the racks in the stores if they weren't popular. Someone please educate me. I may be missing something that is quite obvious to anyone else here.

Tell me you've never fired a suppressed SP5 without telling me
Serious answer - I've been in zero gun fights and don't plan to so the "effectiveness" vs pistol or rifle is a moot point.
PDWs, especially the roller delayed variants, are fun and inexpensive to shoot vs rifles. 147 grain 9mm is stupid quite and super cheap vs 300 blk subs.

You're definitely right. I have never fired a suppressed SP5, but I have fired a suppressed MP5. I imagine the SP5 is just as fun.
I reckon if you're planning on taking it out an just busting caps into some paper at the range (or cans and bottles out back if you're away from town) they can be fun as hell. I must be getting too old to understand, or even remember, having a good time popping off a few rounds from whatever firearm called my name that day.
Thanks for the response. I may have to head to the range to put in some fun time and try one out this evening now.

I have money and land. I like to shoot. So I buy guns I enjoy and take them to shoot?

They're the same weapon save for one is a semi-auto and doesn't cost $50k

At some point I'd like to get a CMMG Banshee MK17 because it uses P320 mags.
