Putting the bay boat for sale either this fall or next. Trolling motor isn't working. Last two times I have got it fixed it hasn't lasted the summer. Haven't decided if I am going to replace it or just let whoever buys it put whatever they want on it.
If yall were buying a used bay boat (2012) would you want it turn key or would you want to choose your trolling motor?

I think most would want turn key.
I need to add a secondary bilge pump and bite the bullet on outriggers.
I also really need PFD storage under the hardtop.

Yeah I'd replace it. The issue with not having it "turn key" is it makes guys think you were cheap and just didn't fix anything. Which is total BS usually, but that's just life. They will kick the tires on everything that doesn't work flawlessly.

That's what I was thinking as well. Also figure with the price range I will be in whoever buys it will not then want to spend another 3k on a band new trolling motor. It would be different if I was selling a 100k bay boat to someone with deep pockets

I wouldnt replace it. I would just remove it completely. I dont see a T-motor affecting the price of a boat much. IF you want the boat you are going to buy it.

Seems most buyers want it turn key, cheap af, and configured exactly like they want it.
Same with houses these days. Its definitely a buyers market right now.

Outboard is currently in the shop and getting a new lower unit $2,700
Prodrive is currently in the shopp getting a new prop shaft $800
GPS stopped working on one boat and need to buy one for the other.
Just patched a hole in the bottom of my bay boat. Fingers crossed.
Need a prop for each boat.
Would like to add hydroturf on my prodrive boat but I know that prolly won't hapen

I'm not going to replace it with something that is brand new. The guy I take it to often posts used trolling motors for sale off boats that he is replacing. I will get something that is actually working so at least there is a functioning trolling motor on the boat.

This thread motivated me. I installed a new shoot thru hull transducer yesterday. Fishing the wire is a pain but I’m glad I can now see a depth when on plane.

My 98 skeeter ?? is about as good as it’ll ever be after 20+ small fixes. My next project is Active Target 2 acquisition and create my own transducer pole. I hate drilling more holes in it but this will be last big project till something breaks. Fingers crossed
Forgot about rear nav light. Tall fuking pole and top of barn door the crack upon entry was alarming…..

I’m always floored at trailer repair costs, if you can turn a wrench just DIY.

1) Weld bunk on trailer
2) Repair seals on pump-out holes in transom
3) Probably a new on-board charger
4) 500 hour service
5) Lowrance pooped out on me. I have a small backup, but need to get it repaired. It is only 2 years old.

Just wash and waxed both boats. They needed it pretty bad. Now i need to do some small things, fix fender, buy new boat brushes, etc.

All around light needs to be required. Replaced the entire assembly because my 25 year old bulb burnt out and I can’t find a replacement. Wired new one in to existing wire. Had 12 volts at end of the wire, spliced in new light, nothing.
Raptor stopped working. Turns on. Remotes don’t pair and it won’t go up or down from the pump.
I think that’s actually it

When I lived in the country and had a 40 x 60 shop I blasted and repainted a couple of Ranger trailers as well as re-furb jobs on the Go Devil trailers as well as utility trailers. Can't do any of that where I live now, that's why I'm trying to find a place. May end up just buying a new trailer when the time comes.

When you get it home I'll come help you. We damn near empty nesters now and I'm bored

I wouldn’t replace the trolling motor over that issue, but if you got it like that, I’m looking to get rid of my ultrex 24v 80#
I just want to go with the Garmin to match my electronics.
I wasn't planning on replacing it, just a punch list of things that need to be repaired.
When I do replace it I am putting a 36v fortrex on it. I don't like the technology on the ultrex. I am old school.

Just fixed my captains chair. Pretty happy where it is now.
