The 4.7 is the bullet proof small V8 UZ engine used in the 2000 through 2009 models. This is the engine Toyota did the Million Mile Tear Down on and everything was still within manufacturing tolerances.

You're correct, of course. My humble apologies - I need to take my remedial Toyota course.

If you don't lift it and run big tires you should average about that. My 2014 that had only a leveling kit and 285's with the 5.7 averaged about 15.

'14 Tundra Crewmax 4x2 with 53,000 miles.

I sit around 17mpg average and get 17-18 on interstate trips doing 75 or so.

My 2005 has 380k miles and still gets over 16mpg with original V8.

My 2017 1794 edition averages 14mpg after 12k miles.

You ever change the fluid in the transmission? I have an 06 and it's supposed to not need changing but I'm skeptical

I have a 2016 with stock tires and drive ~60-75 miles per day interstate and in town. Average 16.3 mpg.

I had a 2012 tundra that I got used for a great price on 2015. It had aboit 40k miles on it. Took on about 1/2” if water in the flood and insurance totaled it out. I replaced it with a F150 and at least once a week I look at used tundras to consider trading my F150 in

2014 La Edition 5.7 Crewmax
80,500 miles and its gotten 13 mpg since I bought it. Traded it in last week on a 2018 GMC Sierra.

Was on my 2nd set of rims because chrome was flaked off. 2nd set of rims were also flaking and Toyota said no warranty because was past 12K miles since they replaced them first time even though it was only 10 months. Leather was crumbling in the Tundra and was disappointed in the 1990 like features in the truck.

Have gotten as much as 21 on the highway but haven’t overall averaged in a couple of years
Have had trans fluid changed out twice by Toyota dealers.
I don’t drive over 65mph on highway

Hate to say it, but it's a little bit of your fault for buying shitty dealer add ons. Louisiana edition is aftermarket wheels and leather. It's just an overpriced SR5. Toyota had nothing to do with your problems, just the dealer.

Unfortunately there’s not a lot of incentive for Toyota to really improve the Tundra, which in my opinion needs front end styling changes and mileage improvements. The US is the only market for this vehicle from what I’ve read and it’s a small contributor to the company’s overall well being

Nope. The torque converter went out about 8 months ago. I just replaced the entire transmission. I will say there was quite a noticeable difference.
