What is your Toyota Tundra mileage.

I am looking to upgrade to a full sized truck. I currently have a Tacoma, but need more interior room. I would prefer 4wd but it isn't a necessity. I am curious what is the average mileage and tell me what engine you have.

I actually meant miles per gallon in this thread. I know there was a guy who had the million mile Tundra. Toyota gave him a brand new one for the old for research.

My buddy has a crew cab with the 5.7 and 35's and monitor never gets above 9 mpg.

I have a '17 SR5 Crewmax 4x4 5.7L. Currently right at 13k on the odometer. I have taken 2 trips in it to Colorado averaging 80mph and got ~17mpg. I have also taken a few trips to Baton Rouge and New Orleans, but don't recall the mpg. Most of my driving is street driving to and from daycare/school (16 mile round trip a day) however. On the life of the truck I'm right at 14mpg. Hope that helps.
ETA: Saw the reply above about 9mpg with 35s. I don't know how my tires compare to those, but I have 285/55R20 BFG TA/KO2s.

Get a Silverado. I get 22-24 hwy on avg (4wd).

here's what i learned/observed while truck shopping:
1) tundra towing capacity is best in class
2) tundra gas mileage is worst or close to worst
3) the tundra rear seat area is the most uncomfortable
there was not a compelling reason, for me, to choose the tundra. others will have different needs
i went with a 2018 sierra, after two days on the highway i'm right at 22 mpg

That matches my experience exactly. Went with the 2017 Silverado (same thing).
I compared the Tundra 5.7 with the Silverado 5.3 and 6.0 and ended up with the 5.3.
The Tundra 5.7 has more power than the Silverado 5.3, but it was not significant. The Silverado 6.0 blew it out of the water, but if I was going to get that I would have just gone for the 2500 diesel instead (which was out of my budget for last year). So i settled on the 5.3 Chevy and have been very happy with it.

Do not get a 4.6 Tundra. Biggest regret of my life. It gets worse gas mileage than my dads 5.7

Over 118,000. Unfortunately the dreaded AIP failure hit me yesterday. Worth a google if you are seriously thinking about buying.

06 Tundra Limited 2WD 4.7 V8 OEM size tires 16-18 mpg highway. Don't know city mpg. 71,000 on the odometer.

'17 crewmax, with 35" toyo ATs, 100/miles a day on commute or 200 if I go to BR, 16mpg driving between 75-80mph. I have just over 31k miles and it turned 1 earlier this month.

I have had 4 Tundras I usually get rid of them at 200k. I would not own anything but a Tundra. they are not the best on gas mileage average 15.5 Hwy unless you jack one up then you get 8 to 10 mpg.

This is my set-up but I creep above 10 and do way better on the highway. Edited to say before my '14 flooded from Harvey I had 130K if the question was actual miles and not mpg. Zero issues. My replacement '16 Tundra has 80K. Zero issues either.

I wouldn't jack it up or anything. I still am not decided on what to get. I have looked at Ford, Chevy, Toyota and the new Titans. The only thing that scares me on the tundra is people saying 10 mpg. I would be good with 15-16. My Tacoma only gets 17-18.

I have just a little under 4,000 miles on my 2018 4x4 and I'm getting about 16.5 per tank so far.
Despite the naysayers, I LOVE IT..... and you can back your sissy little sierra or 1500 up to my Tundra and I'll yank the frame out from under you!

What year is yours? I think they fixed the AIP issue in 2012.
Regardless, there’s a $175 kit that bypasses the AIP system, doesn’t throw the check engine light, and passes emissions. Not hard to install. So it’s not a $4,000 repair anymore.
