I do have a couple of invest revolvers that I haven’t shot.
1986 Colt Python 4” stainless
Colt Diamondback .22 blued
I should probably shoot them because I never plan on selling them.

Favorite that I own is my S&W 686 Plus 7” in .357. Wood grip isn’t quite as comfortable as rubber but it looks so classy.
I also like my two Taurus revolvers a lot. Taurus Tracker 357 and Raging Hunter in 44 mag which is cartoonishly large.

I have SWs and GP-100s, but the one that feels most balanced and natural in my hand is the Ruger SP101 3", with Hogue aftermarket rubber grips.
It is small enough to be viable as a carry, yet heavy enough to deal with the recoil of 357. (normally shoot 38+p in it)
It is truly a little tank.

How is this different from the 686. They look the same. Or is 629 just the 44 mag version?

The other is a S&W 460 mag
I have one of those as well. The .460 rounds are legit. I believe these were 240 grain Hornady’s IIRC. Here’s my son shooting it when he was 15.

Can it really be my favorite if I don’t own it?
I want a S&W 586 4” 357.
Favorite I own is S&W model 10 38.

Just the +p+ ammo they make with the 300gr bullets I believe.
629 is the .44 mag. 686 is the .357

I had three S&W revolvers I used for work: The model 66 2 1/2 inch, model 19 4 inch and model 686 4 inch. Like a dummy I sold or traded all three for other guns. I bought each one for under $300 in the eighties. As a bonus I had a pristine Browning 9mm that I traded. These guns would be worth a pretty penny now.

Ruger Bisley Blackhawk flattop, 5-1/2" barrel, .44Special. I load the Skeeter Skelton loads for it, 7.5 grains Unique with a 250-ish grain Keith-style SWC. Great stuff!
The "Working Man's #5," if you are familiar.
ETA: well, there was supposed to be a picture.

I paid a combined $320 for the 2 revolvers I posted. Think I got a pretty good deal.

Absolutely. I shot a 2 1/2 inch 44 with magnum rounds. Not fun. All I have now are several single/double Sigs in .357 auro and 9mm and a few Glock 9mm models. I kick myself everytime I see revolver prices.

Dan Wesson. Got a .357 and a .44. They can interchange barrels between 2” and 8” but I didn’t get any extra barrels when I bought mine. They were sold sometimes as a kit years ago which came with 3-4 barrels and a tool to change them. They’re allegedly some of the most accurate revolvers ever made as you can adjust the distance between the cylinder and barrel with the tool. Both mine came with long barrels (6 and 8) and neither included the tool so I haven’t had a chance to try that. Supposed to have been made by a member of the Wesson family of Smith and Wesson.

I've had a Taurus Raging bull and a Raging Hunter, both with 6.5" bbl and in 454 casull. Dang accurate and flat out fun to shoot.
