Mother in laws boss gave it to her after cleaning out his garage and she gave it to me. Worth putting some new line on it and adding it to the arsenal? Don’t know how old it is but seems solid.

One of the best. Looks like it's in great shape too.

They haven't made silver calcutta in 20 years?

I would bring it in for a cleaning, maybe replace the bearings and you'll have an awesome reel.

Take that thing apart, oil it up and sling the hell out of it. I still fish with an old ambassadeur 3600 I got when I was 10.
Never fished with a Calcutta but I know people that swear by them.

I can also confirm that old Calcutta would make it into my top 3

I bring mine to superior on siegen. I'm sure there are other people, just as good too. They dont have great customer service and they can be a little pricey, but it's easy if you're in br.

i just posted about that reel in another thread. I have a 92 model like that. used it this year for saltwater fishing and it was great. you can get them rebuilt at lake charles tackle for cheap if you are in that area.

I’m jealous. I used to have a couple reels like that back in the day. That and some old Ambassadeurs were what I learned on.

Van if you need help with it call me at the office. I have fished with them for years they work well and have changed just about everything imaginable on them over the years. I’ll be happy to help you make sure it’s in top top shape.

Love my old Calcutta! Mine is 15+ years old. Is that one silver or gold? Can't really tell in the pics.

Given your location, Professional in New Orleans would be first choice. Gus' in Slidell also does repair work.

If you’re in BR sometimes Superior Tackle has cleaned a fixed a couple of mine. Kinda expensive, but it’s better than me fidgeting with that shite.
