My 13s are slowing dwindling down so I’m looking to replace a couple. What’s the best bang for the buck these days that’ll hold up in salt watah?

My favorites are my lews. I have Shimano Scorpion that I really like, Abu Gracie inshore that is older but still throws like a dream, abu premier that is awesome, a couple of concepts that like, but my favorites are my Lew’s tourney pros. I like and use them all though, so like someone else said, they all make good reels.

Shimano, Lews, and Daiwa.

All three make some good reels. They also make some POS’s.

You get what you pay for.

I've got an Abu Garcia Orra that just will not give up the ghost. Used only in salt for several years.

Couple years. I have 2 that have lost all brake fuction. No matter how high I set the brake, it backlashes as if there was zero brake set.

Love my Daiwa tatula sv. By far my most used reel and looked brand new still when I recently pulled it apart for maintenance.
Recently got a Shimano Curado dc and have been loving that too, time will tell how well it holds up to inshore fishing though.

Daiwa Coastal 150. I had an issue with one but they replaced it. Smooth and it doesn't backlash.

I still have 2 but don't use them much. They are absolute tanks and will not die. Wish they still made them.

My two Orra inshores are seem like they are bullet proof.

As for my favorite curret baitcaster for saltwater, it has to be the Daiwa Coastal SV TW 150. It is simply phenomenal.

Interested to hear more about your experience with this reel. I’ve been thinking about trying something new for inshore and Daiwa is on that list.

Looks like it’s around $250. Does that seem about right?

I have 2 Coastal 150s. I had to send 1 back because it was noisy and loose after just a couple of trips. They ended up sending me a brand new one. $250 is the going price. I got mine much cheaper on Ebay but that was before Covid. Inventories are low everywhere.

Out if my 6 Shimano Metaniums, there’s usually one I ain’t throwing due to a bad bearing.

Great reels when they’re working but Shimano really needs to fix their Xship bearing problems.
