I bought DT socks for a hunting trip out West last fall. Wore them once and once again back here deer hunting. Completely wore through the heels. Garbage.
How did the warranty replacement pair hold up? I’ve got tons of miles on mine turkey hunting and now wear them everyday for work, haven’t had an issue yet.

I wear boots over mine and they have held up great.

A lot of great brands have said.
One I’ll add is Waterloo rods

Laguna rods are well worth it as well.

Kistler rods, especially the Helium.
Lews baitcasters Tournament Pro and above are the best value IMO for bass fishing
Shimano and Abu Garcia upper tier stuff is great. I’ve got some Shimano TranX 500’s that can handle all but the largest salt water fish and are great for Muskie. Plus they’re pretty much bulletproof.
I did just send in an Abu Garcia Toro Beast that’s gotta be close to 20 years old in for service. The drag wouldn’t lock down and I couldn’t figure it out. They sent me a brand new one no questions asked because they couldn’t get it fixed perfectly.

Forster co-ax reloading press and dies. Lapua, Peterson, and Alpha brass. Leupold optics as well if the budget doesn't allow European, March, Nightforce, etc.

Just very bad luck. I’ve never had an issue with any of my Smartwool or Darn Tough socks. Even my cheaper wig wam socks have never had that type of issue.

It sucks paying that much for socks but I'm reminded every time I wear them that my feet are thankful.
Do you one better...hollow alpaca socks.
I have sweaty cold feet. Have tried EVERYTHING. Every kind of merino wool sock their is and still same issues. After a ton of research, i got some hollow alpaca socks for christmas, and all i can say is SIMPLY AMAZING

I have a pair of Costas that I got about 10 years ago and other than the rubber parts kind of falling off they have held up well to a decent amount of abuse.

It’s ridiculous when you can buy them for basically nothing on Amazon. But Fenix headlamps are legit. Left outside in a duck hole for weeks, dug it out of mud, cleaned it, recharged, still kicking. And way bright.
I also will second kuiu, Sitka, and Chene.

Amongst the items already listed that I can vouch for are
Streamlight
Red Oxx
Leopold/ Nightforce scopes
First Lite/ Sitka (although both having sizing issues)
Vortex binos
Aftco
My only complaint on the list is kuiu. Their camo patterns are not very traditional and if anything looks pretty homo.

I second this. I have both the heavyweight and thin alpaca socks. I found I can even wear the HW with rubber boots checking rice in the summer and my feet won’t get hot or feel wet. Warmth in winter is incredible.
Darn Toughs have been downgraded to emergency toilet paper.

I have turned away from first lite as they are not durable. Several of my items from them are pilling.
I hear you on the kuiu patterns, and agree: but me and most of the baws I hunt with are switching to solid earth tone (brown, olive; black; etc) colors for deer duck and big game hunting now. It’s just easier and doesn’t matter. For turkey, I still do bottomland (the best ever pattern), Sitka sub alpine and the new green pattern, and fall foliage.
But in a deer stand, a duck blind; or a box stand. I argue that a solid brown or dark earth tone color is actually better than camo patterns because of the shading factor, and at worst case doesn’t hurt you.

I have a solid brown furnace hoody by First Lite and I love the versatility of that color.
Conifer is another color I am liking

Not trying to high thread but are Poncho shirts worth the money? Both my sons love them but im frugal with my money when it comes to clothes. Nothing to fancy for me.
I got several $20 Realtree fishing shirts from Walmart, I like them. Lol

That furnace hoody is warm enough that if you are somewhat active (lets say hiking) and appropriately dressed top down from beanie to baselayer you are feeling decent without a jacket system in 10 degree weather. That's a win for me. Makes it a great shirt for doing grunt work around the house in colder weather
