Well, brought my dog to the vet today.(Final Update)

Thought she had an ulcer and we've treating for a bit. About 3 am this morning she threw up a baseball size blood clot and wouldn't walk anymore. Just laid there. Brought her to the normal vet and they made me come get her and bring her to the emergency vet. They are testing the lymph nodes around her stomach. Shes a boxer so cancer was always a possibility, just didn't think it would be an issue this soon. Went from about 80lbs to 60lbs in just a couple weeks. The vet wont outright say it, but I dont think she will be coming home again. She seems pretty confident its cancer and the costs for chemo are too much. Anyways, today sucks.
So here is my update from the oncologist and vet. She has lymphoma. Had two blood transfusions and is looking better. The treatment is only 50% successful and even then they said it will come back. The blood transfusions have made a pretty big impact, with the steroids and nausea medicine, some herbal blood medicine, etc they say she is doing pretty good considering and walking again. We have opted to pick her up and bring her home, there really isn't much they can. Do for her that we can't do. They are giving her about 3 weeks before we are in the same situation again and maybe sooner if she doesn't eat. So we are making plans for that.
Thanks for letting me vent, can't do it at home because all the others need to. I'm just happy she gets to come home even if only for a short time.

Sorry to hear your situation.
We took our 10 year old American Eskimo (First pet wife and I bought after we got married) to the vet for a teeth cleaning (mothers day). Had labs done and found out he has chronic kidney failure.
Stay strong kengel2!

Damn, I hate to hear that.
She’s a beautiful girl.
There’s just something special about a Boxer.

Sorry for you and the family. I am sure if the dog could talk it would thank you for giving it a great life.
Hopes and prayers for you and yours.
If the worst happens, grieve the loss for however long you need, then go get a new puppy.
I lost mine about 2 1/2 months ago. Have put down a deposit for a new pup that can come home between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I live alone. It will be the first decent Christmas I have had in ten years since the divorce.
Best of luck and blessings to your family and your dog.

She's only 6.
Thank you everyone.
Hopefully, we will find out 100% what is wrong tomorrow. Although, we are probably just delaying the inevitable. I'd just like to being her home or at least to our normal vet instead of this place she's never been.

I'm sorry, boxers are wonderful dogs. My best friend had one for years. It was like losing a family member when she died.

Hate it for you, to see your son hugging on him makes it so much harder. Prayers that it’s not the big C.

I will look into this. Thank you for the heads up.
Posted an update.
I will say I have to give props to my vet and the emergency place.
Animal Health Clinic in Covington and MedVet in Mandeville.
They have been pretty awesome. I know it's only been a day, but I was talking on the phone with the vets at like 730 last night with questions. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend either of them.

Sorry for what you are dealing with. Had similar with my dog. The night I got home from work and she wouldn't come to me I knew. I took her a hamburger and she wouldn't even sniff it. I'm sad now. Again, sorry for what you are dealing with.

That really sucks. Take that girl home and love her, make her happy and comfortable.
