Me and ClassicGold hit up Big Lake on Saturday. The tide was falling all morning but the fish never really "turned on". Managed to grind out 18 decent sized trout.

How'd the rest of the OB do? Any of you yak guys fish Minimalist this weekend?

Last week I went to a Cow Island with a friend of mine. Fishing was tough. We only caught a couple of bass, but they were some healthy looking fish.

Around lunch we decided to go try Fausse Point. I caught 1 fish. There was an old baw fishing the opposite bank from us. We saw him hook a decent bass and lost him at the side of the boat. Dude threw his rod down and said “I give up.” He said that was the first bite he had all day. It was like 2 pm.

Apparently the fishing was tough for everybody. I thought we just sucked.

ETA: At Cow Island, Janky was fishing about a hundred yards from us and I didn’t even realize it.

Fished Wheeler Reservoir yesterday in my kayak. I ended up cleaning 26. No monsters, but most were pretty good crappie, with the largest few in the 13" range. I threw back several on the small side that were legal, but puny. Probably caught well over 100 fish, if you count all the stripe (white and yellow bass), bluegill, and short crappie. I caught the majority on jigs, but a few on minnows.

Very, very jealous. I haven't tried to catch any white perch out of the yak yet, but I may go this weekend.

I skunked in PAC in the yak. I've officially disavowed PAC until I'm forced to fish there for our tournament.

Fishing somewhere this weekend hopefully.

Nice! I really need to learn how to catch sacalait around here. The only way I know how to catch them is tight lining them with shiners over a brush pile in 20+ feet of water in Toledo Bend.

I was thinking CLECO just for a quick trip unless Alx wants to share some of his Indian Creek tree top coordinates.

Fished Bayou Bienvenue on Saturday. Water was high, muddy, and cold. Managed 1 red (only bite) all morning. I gave up early since I knew it was just going to be one of those days. Everyone I talked to had a rough going. I think this week will be good with the water heating up a bit. Hopefully we can get on em next weekend.

12 trout Friday afternoon slow rolling red peanuts, water temp 54/partly cloudy. Lost a couple at the boat and had one throw back, most were 16"-17". Tide was ripping in at 6:30 pm when i left CPT. Did it agian saturday, and only caught one in the same spot i fished Friday, water temp 56/sunny. Had a district court judge and his brother run into my boat at the launch Saturday, first person ever to accept responsibility and offer to fix the damage. Gave me a bidness card to contact him Ran into them later and they had 20 nice trout fishing DOA's anchored up

I knew I should have pulled out the DOA under the popping cork on Saturday

Same, but on Sunday in Delacroix. I that and the gold spoons. Fished all morning Sunday on various artificials. Had one hit but it got off (probably a bass). Saw reds all over, could not make them hit. Talked to a boat at launch, they limited on reds on spoons. I had contemplated a spoon earlier, but didn't feel like changing shite up.
