Wind kicked our asses. Ended up with a nice box of trout and a few bonus reds.

Had to go try the new I-pilot out so I headed to blind river for a few. Water was muddy but the perch were still biting.

Caught some crawfish in the hail, sold most, ate some. Drank beer. Fertilized the lawn.

Bought one of my twin boys a car. Sum bitch is already punished. Told him to be home for 8 last night and was an hour late.

He must drive the same road I did when I was 17. Damn thing was always blocked, flooded or had a time warp.

Went to reggio in the kayak. Only got to fish for 2 hours. Then had to head to the house to boil 50lbs of crawfish.

Saturday: fished a kayak tournament and won with a 14.7lb 2 fish stringer. Pretty pumped about that because for the most part I suck at fishing. Top fish was my first one in the bag for the day...I kept it because I'm usually terrible enough that I'll weigh in a 1.5lb red.

Sunday: cooked a venison/beef/bacon chili. It was good but the bacon didn't add anything, so it was a wasteful use of bacon.

A personal best for me. 22 specks, 3 reds and 4 bass. Reggio is on fire. A bonus was that there was plenty of water so I didn't have to pull anyone off of a mudflat this week.

Friday's wind kicked our butts. We still got 12 nice reds, 17 specks, 3 drum, and a Bass in Hopedale. The crabbers are out in full force, felt like I should have been slalom skiing with all the floats out there.

Took the yak and fly rod to my secret pond in the bonnet carre spillway.

Sac a lait were a no show but the Googleye were on a tear. Caught somewhere between 30 and 35. Kept 10 pigs to fry whole. They all were right at 1 lb. It was a lot of fun

Also took 4 tries to get over the levee. With the rain and a 2 wheel drive truck it was sketchy

Boiled two sacks Saturday. Got a wild hair and decided to do it all over again yesterday. Sodium levels are high this morning

fished with captain Troy Robichaux out of golden meadow Friday and Saturday

It was the first inshore charter for me as myself along with plenty of friends have boats

It was awesome. Troy is a great dude. Conditions were horrible, water was dirty, wind was blowing 20-25,and any open water was rough as frick. I'm sure a lot of guides would have just chalked it up as a loss and blamed the weather but Troy took us from spot to spot and didn't point it back towards the launch until we had a limit of reds and a few trout each day. The bays were too rough to fish specs but we did pick up about 10 random ones while deep in the marsh chasing reds. I would definitely fish with Troy again. His 24' yellowfin is awesome.

2 day total was 50 reds and 10 speckled trout

Took a boat ride and had dinner on the water. Didn't even wet a line but it was nice to get out!
