Started Thursday with wife, solid trout under birds in the lake with plastic. Glow stingray grubs with a consistent 10 mph ese wind. Caught 18 before we were blown off our bite. Zero fish after that.
Trip today with a buddy and his two boys. Ran to spicers for crickets in a 100 yd fog and no moon. ENE wind early but started bucking at 7:30. North turners was stained and we left with clean ice. Picked up a couple fish on the East bank of old settlement before pushing south to commissary. Every stop we caught fish until they played out. Headed north at 2:00 and ran across birds picking. Bugged out at 3:30 for c pt with 49.
Ran across several sets of birds on our way home but I was on a mission to clean and get clean.

Not necessarily the weekend, but I went to Lil Bama on Tuesday and caught a mess of bass.

A few of those were a little too small and got released in the pond. The rest were dinner.

Finished with a 2 man limit and seven bonus flounder. It was my first time fishing Down South Lures and I am now a believer. It’s shaping up to be a good summer.

Caught about 20 monster bream with my fly rod. They are a little deep where I'm at and I dont think they are full out bedding yet. Should be good in a couple of weeks.

Been having a ball with the bream on an ultra light. The chink in the middle was 1.25 lbs of drag stripping fury.

Were you in lake pontchatrain? If so, is the water dirty yet from the spillway being opened?

I think I'm gonna try to hit PAC on Tuesday. See if I can get lucky on a similar mixed bag.
