Wear those kill switches!

My son's friend died yesterday after getting thrown out of the boat and then ran over by it. Cut his leg really bad and he bled out.

Wow. I'm sorry man.
We pulled a guy out of big lake several years ago who got sharked.
We were able to tie his arm up and keep his hand where it got removed like 90% and get him to the launch and into an ambulance.
It was surreal.
I also don't store everything under the cap hull and keep a tourniquet handy in a First Aid bag.

Well that’s not good. Sorry about that. Yeah I’m constantly trying to remember to latch that kill switch.

I have 3 hard and fast rules for my boat: Life jacket on when running. Period. Kill switch hooked to it. Every time... and no beer drinking. And I love beer more than Anheiser Busch but I'm not doing it man.

I don’t understand folks that don’t wear them along with life vest. I have my kill switch clipped on to my vest all the time.

Need to wear it. Hit a floater that’s just beneath the surface and you’ll potentially be thrown into the water after bouncing off the boat. Say your still awake after the incident, but find yourself in the water with broken ribs. Would make it very tough to hold out trying to stay afloat with one arm and no flotation.
Just a thought…

Hartwell is down 9 1/2 ft now from full pool. Saw this the other day as I was breaking in the new motor. No point/hump for 300 yds. Just Mr. Heron sitting on a lower unit killer in 58 ft. of water. Don’t know how many times I ran right by/over this tree not knowing it …

I've hit a bunch of stuff over the years. I've even run aground twice. Hitting things hasn't come close to tossing me, but catching a chine has multiple times. That's what I fear most with these boats. Fortunately, I do not have a Lynx.

I never wore a vest on my big boat but in the little boat absolutely you can get thrown in an instant. The new instant inflatable ones are so nice compared to what we grew up with.
And running a tiller without the kill switch clipped on is asking for trouble which will most definitely find you eventually
