Anyone hear any reports that have been good? Thinking about doing an overnighter in the mississippi canyon this weekend.

Bite is pretty slow right now. The ones that are being caught are plus sized though

Are they mostly a night bite or early morning?

Trawlewrs havent been out near the canyon. We saw one trawler and one other fishing boat out this past Saturday, south of loop.

You can load the boat with blackfin at night. Ive never had a good late night bite with YFT in mississippi canyon though.

Usually eat in morning and before sunset

The only way to describe the tuna fishing currently is horrific.

Follow jensentuna on instagram. Its the only tuna pictures I have seen all summer. The long liners out of Dulac must know where they are.

The long liners have raped the tuna this year.

I was on a research cruise in June/July and I can tell you for a fact they were thick in DeSoto canyon to the east...

ETA: We didn't catch any because we weren't fishing but we often had them jumping out of the water...big sons a bitches.

Sucks cause I'll be fishing with Eddie on Thursday and Friday, guess we'll be doing some AJ fishing instead.
