they go out and horde ammo which keeps those who need it from getting it.
So why do you need it?

I did.. Down to 500rds on 9mm and it nearly impossible to find..
The supply isnt keeping up with the demand. The ammo manufacturers have to start making more..

Many of us live in or near towns that would be chaos if the food supply was disrupted. They don’t mind killing over drugs. They probably wouldn’t mind killing over food. Be prepared.

To be honest, I don't shoot often. Probably once or twice a year. I've only bought about 300 or 400 rounds since mid 2020. But I have not ran into the circumstance where I wanted to buy some, and there were none to buy. If you go online, you can find what you are looking for. Will it be cheap? No. But will it be available? Yes.

They won't invest in increasing capacity when the a-hole in the White House has publicly stated that one of his goals is tantamount to the destruction of their industry.

You do realize there were 8 million new gun buyers last year. If they only purchased 100 rds of ammo each that is 800 million rounds. Stop criticizing your fellow gun owners for exercising capitalism and their constitutional rights. You have yourself to blame for not having yourself stocked up.
I joined the ranks in 2021. First time purchase of firearms other than shotguns and rifles I’ve had for 20 years. Had to buy 500 rounds of 9mm just for the wife and I to train on the pistols. Then 60 rounds of self defense rounds that I hope we never have to fire. After the scene put on last year we don’t feel safe without weapons.

They are basically running 24/7 and it's incredibly expensive and time consuming to add new equipment. There's no easy solution when there's a hostile LWNJ government in charge.

What exactly has stopped them from ramping up production the last 4years??
A normal business owner tends realise that if he/she is running at max capacity and still not keeping up you invest in more equipment and product.. It seems like the ammo suppliers haven't done that at the rate they needed to.

Have basically quit going to the range because I don't want to have to stock up on ammo at today's prices. I also worry about the public range I shoot at, being crowded.

Someone following us home from Walmart is a fear I do have. Always had shotguns and rifles to hunt, but I had never owned a pistol until my leg got messed up.
Are you often in situations where you could be assaulted?

Do you otherwise have a fear for your life?
I bought about 400 rounds of 9mm when Blazer Brass was $23 cents a round.
Won't do me any good now anyway, with all of my guns having been lost in a boating accident.

Then buy what you need. No one is saying not to buy what you need.
It’s’ the ones that buy what they don’t need like the Karen’s in the Rouses with carts filled with toilet paper Lysol and Clorox wipes like they’re the only ones that matter

Dude people can buy whatever and however much they want.

You can but what does that accomplish other than make yourself feel better about yourself. Because you don’t “panic buy”

Idiots with ammo.
What do you call people who don’t have ammo?

The ammo companies have been doing fine, they had been ahead of demand until last June. This is a short term panic surge, and things will cool back down in time. If those companies invest in ramping up, and the market settles back to where it had sat for the past decade, they're going to have wasted a ton of money.
As it stands now, they're getting triple the return that they had been, with the same production.
Why would they want to calm you down, and assure you that you don't need to pay $35 a box, when you're willing to do that now?
