The all new Ruger-57 is just plain cool. Brought to you by the company that revolutionized the innovation of rugged, reliable firearms that the average American can afford, the Ruger-57 is Ruger's most cutting-edge platform yet. Chambered in the high performance and low-recoiling 5.7x28mm caliber, this ergonomic, smooth shooting and accurate pistol is as full-featured as they come

So what’s it cost and what are the advantages? Because I’ve already got a semi from the pics

The ammo being 2x - 3x the cost of 9mm is about the only real reason, other than that it's a heck of a gun. Lot of improvements over the FN.

It's already drilled and tapped for rmr adapter plates. See video above. They show it with an rmr on it near the end.

Ruger is awesome. They're definitely my favorite large gun maker.

x2

I've been around the FN 57 and it's like AR loud. Noticeably different than other pistols in the same area.

It's a PDW specific cartridge, high penetration and accuracy at ranges that exceed those typical of most common semi-automatic handguns. NATO requested a replacement for 9x19mm some years ago, FN produced this cartridge, the PD90, and later a pistol.

I've shot the FN and the recoil on the gun is near nothing. About like a .22 mag at the most.

I may have to find one myself. But like others have said the ammo isn't cheap but it's a neat little cartridge.
