Going pretty good. 73 birds taken from 1 of our blinds Saturday through Monday. 24 birds were taken by Saturday at 8. I was with another group at another blind. They called me so we went over and got our 18. 24 on Sunday. Only 4 hunted then. And we got 7 Monday but only hunted an hour.

It's going good. This year is way better than last year. I can already tell that.

Not trying to be a Debbie downer.....I am so spoiled up here in Arkansas hunting flooded timber. We will not shoot shovelers, teal, ring necks, woodies, etc. We consider those as scrap ducks. We also pass on mallard hens although accidents do happen. It is only greenheads and gray ducks for us.

I was ok with everything, including teal, but wtf.

Woodrows outrank Greys all day.

You need to reevaluate the selection process.

Plus, pic or gtfo.

I find teal and woodies are the best eating out of all ducks. Mallards are good in a gumbo or on the pit but I like to eat my ducks in a gravy. If I have time I enjoy staying late and shooting mallards but if the teal hit us early I'll get my 6 and enjoy a good gravy.

Because of taste? I hunted the marshes when I lived in south Louisiana and the ducks including the grays can have that marsh taste. But up here the ducks don't have that marsh taste. They hang out in flooded timber eating acorns or surrounding agrictural fields chowing down on rice and beans. The grays taste just as good as the woodrows.

Sometimes they show, sometimes they don't. If your with good company its a good time. Stayed till 12:30 3 times. once they showed up. The other two times they didn't but still enjoyed it.

Lol, this is bull. I've hunted Ark for years and this just isnt true. This just in, ducks migrate. Just because you shoot them in the woods or in the fields doesnt mean you have a clue what theyve been eating all summer.
