Depends on the day. If its damp or not alot of leaves down yet and I can move quietly, Im moving. If its dry and late in the year, I will find a main feeding spot around several nest and park it.

Well nobody has asked, but what kind of squirrels do you have? I find that hunting Fox squirrels, it takes patience. A Fox squirrel wil lay down on a limb and hide if it sees you, so i like to sit somewhere near a food source (pecan or big striped oak tree) and pick them off as they come by. Cat squirrels on the other had, will break and run, so i will creep through bottoms along the edges of palmetto thickets, and if i see one from a distance, i will sometimes run to the tree i see him in, and and start shootiing. I know that isnt the safest method, but im good enough with a gun, if i trip, i aint shooting myself.

edit to say i replied to the wrong person like a noob

I don't. It seems you'd kill some and they'd just die in the next.

At our house the squirrels and rabbits are safe. My wife and kids consider them yard pets. The dog tries to kill them every chance he gets and the wife gets pissed

I sit and wait. If I see one that I can tell is feeding I will watch it for a while, there is usually another close by.

We don't have an eagle problem where I hunt. Seen babies a time or two but usually shoot the nest with a .22. Hear a thud then something is in there
