Always wondered where most people carry when on their person. 12 o'clock being under the belly button and 6 o'clock being above your arse crack.

Kahr CM9 in DeSantis holster
IWB at about 1 o'clock for me

When I would carry full size IWB, it would be at the 6 position.

Depends on what I’m wearing. I usually wear nike golf shorts pretty much everyday and I’ll carry appendix iwb with a custom kydex taco. Jeans or long pants I’ll usually carry somewhere around 4/5.

I’d love suggestions. I wear khakis and a polo or button down tucked in every day. Other than a pocket pistol or ankle holster, I’m not sure what I can do.

I have an alien gear tuck 3.0 that I will carry my G27 at 4 o'clock with a tucked in shirt. At first glance it isn't obvious that I'm carrying. If I'm going to be in a meeting or where someone has a chance to look at me for an extended period of time I'll throw on a jacket.

To be honest a bellyband with a single stack 9 is probably your least obtrusive method.

taurus tcp 380 on right hip or in the pocket most of the time. wife carries a ruger lcp in various ways depending what she is doing. have several other carry pistols in 9, 40 and 45 but those 2 are the smallest easiest to conceal that we have and do not let the small size and 380 caliber fool you both those little guns will stack em in at 30 steps. Keep them loaded with hydrashocks I sure as hell don't want to take one in the chest.

Guess I'm the only one that carries at 6 o'clock. I carry my g29 in an alien gear holster right in the middle of my back.

Surprised how many here appendix carry. I always get grief from friends when they find out I appendix carry.

I used to do 4-5 o'clock with an Alien Gear and my Shield but now I appendix carry with a CYA IWB kydex holster

You should do some research before doing this. It's commonly referred to as SOB (small of the back) carry in the training world, and it's almost always been discouraged by everyone I've trained under.

The problem is that if you land on your back in a struggle (Clint Smith says a lot of gunfights start out are fistfights, and a lot of fistfights start out as shoving/grappling matches), the gun is against your spine. Landing on the gun can cause serious damage to your spine.

When I mention the foregoing in my classes, every doctor and nurse in the room nods their head in agreement.

The SOB position also makes it difficult to defend against a gun grab, and generally makes it quite slower for you to draw your gun.

It is hard to conceal in warmer months wearing Polos. Winter time is easy. I just wear a fleece vest or a sports coat. Ankle isn't bad once you get used to it. I've done that a few times. Yeah it is going to be longer to draw if you had to, but better than nothing. Someone else mentioned belly band. I've thought about getting one just for summer. I wear pants and polos all summer too, and it would be easier than the ankle.

For the original question, I carry my XDs at 4:00 in a Blade Tech IWB Kydex. It isn't tuckable, but with the vest over it you never know it is there.
